Chapter Twenty Seven

On Monday, everything seemed to be going well again. Nini and Ricky were back on talking terms in their math class, and Nini also started sitting with her friends, along with Ricky's friends, at lunch again.

Everything was back to normal and everyone was happy again, so that night Ricky thought he would finally shoot his shot and ask Nini out on a date.

"Diner day!" Carlos sang, walking up to his group of friends, minus Kourtney, in the parking lot.

"Finally! I've been waiting all week. I can't believe I was really so dramatic that I let myself skip diner day." Nini said.

"I know! That was the first one where we weren't all there since the month Seb broke his leg in eighth grade and had to get surgery." Ashlyn stated.

"Ugh, the worst month ever!" Seb exclaimed, "But you guys made it up by bringing me food from the diner."

"Of course Sebby, anything for you." Carlos chimed causing the girls to aww, "ew, why are we getting sappy again? To the diner we go!"

Once they got to the diner, the four friends greeted Kourtney and sat at the bar as per usual.

"So Neens, any updates with Ricky?" Kourtney asked.

"Umm, we're going out on Saturday!" Nini blushed.

"Bowen finally made a move?" Carlos questioned.

"Uhh both yes and no," Nini sighed, "I have no idea if it's a date."

"What do you mean?" Seb asked.

"He didn't exactly ask if I would like to go on a date with him- he just asked when I was free... through text." the girl explained.

"Damn, that boy does not know how to make moves," Ashlyn said.

"Yea, but the thought is cute, that's all that counts." The brunette replied.

"Oh god, someone take her away. I can't stand her like this," Carlos complained, causing the group to laugh.

"Shut up Carlos, he's trying." Nini said.

"Yea Los, remember when we just started going out and you were all nervous and only talked to me through text." Seb reminded his boyfriend.

Carlos glared at the blonde boy before trying to change the topic off of him and his relationship.

Nini walked into the library for her tutoring gig with Connor when she got a text from him asking if they could move the location to his house since his parents weren't home. She said yes and she made her way over.

"Hey! Sorry I had you come over so last minute," he apologized when he opened the door to let her in.

"Don't worry about it, your house is really close to the library anyway." the girl responded.

"Great! Should we get started?"

"Yup!"

After about two hours of studying, Connor let out a sigh and placed his head on the table.

"Uhh, you good?" Nini asked.

"Roberts I'm so tired of chemistry, let's just take a break." Connor replied.

"Okay, let's talk. How was your day today?"

"Good! Hey, I have an idea- let's watch a movie!" he suggested.

"A movie?" Nini chuckled, "Green, we gotta get back to studying."

"Come on, we've been studying for so long and I pretty much got this lesson down."

Nini debated for a minute whether or not she should give in. He has been doing pretty well recently and they were caught up with work.

"Fine, what movie?"

"You are making the right choice here Roberts, you will not regret it."
