Hindi ako okay

"I'll throw a party tonight!" Rian exclaimed through the phone the next day.

"A party? It's not your birthday today, right?" taka kong tanong.

"Yeah, it's not but I just want to throw a party!"

I frowned. "I'm out. I still need to take care of my son."

"Please, Lily?" she pleaded.

"No."

"Please? Please?"

I heaved a sigh and looked at my son who was just playing with toys beside me and mumbling something to him.

"Fine. I'll just stay there for in a bit. Thirty minutes, I guess?" rinig ko ang pag-singhap niya.

"That was so fast! An hour, at least?" I rolled my eyes.

"Gusto mo ba o ayaw mo?"

"Okay! Okay! Fine."

I chuckled. "Eh bakit parang galit ka?"

"I'm not! Just.. Just go here in my house at six in the evening and don't wear anything but a dress, okay?"

Napataas ang kilay ko. "Who are you to tell me what should I wear?"

"Me."

I sighed. "Basta thirty minutes lang ako diyan. Bye."

"Wait—" I finally ended the call.

I texted Yaya Olie to come here later by five o' clock in the afternoon. Minutes later she replied, 'Sige, Lily'.

At hindi na nagtanong pa kung bakit pinapapunta ko siya rito.

I looked at my son again and called him.

"Jacreio," he immediately withdrew his hold from his toys and looked up a me.

"Why?"

"Mommy's going out tonight. Is it okay for Yaya Olie to look out for you here later?"

His brows furrowed. "Where are you going, Mommy?"

I smiled. "Kay Ninang Rian," his eyes widened and suddenly stood up.

"Kay Ninang, Mommy? Sama ako! Sama ako!" he exclaimed and jumped out of excitement.

I chuckled. "But kids like you are still not allowed to go there," ang kaninang nakangiting Jacreio ay sumimangot.

"Talaga, Mommy? Bawal ako doon?" malungkot niyang tanong at tumango ako.

"But I'm a big boy now," he added as he pouted at me.

My smile widened. "You are. But not as big as us. So don't be a naughty boy to Yaya later, okay?"

He nodded and his small arms wrapped around my neck.

"I love you, Mommy. Take care later at Ninang's house," my heart softened.

I kissed the side of his head. "Such a sweet boy. I love you too," and I giggled.

(◍•ᴗ•◍)

"Lily! Finally, you came! I thought you'll ditch my party!" salubong sa akin ni Rian sa entrance ng bahay nila.

"Wala sina Tita 'no?" tanong ko sa kanya at inirapan niya ako.

"You already know that I can't throw parties when they are here," we both laughed.

"Kahit malaki ka na, pasaway ka pa rin!" I told her and she just pouted and grabbed my wrist.
