*Victoria's P.O.V.*

I woke up due to a phone ringing downstairs. I fluttered my eyes open and checked the bedside clock, it was 4 am.

I heard foot steps and the ringing stopped.

"Hello? Yes, this is she."

"Okay, okay.. I'll be there as soon as I can. Okay. thank you." I heard my mother say.

I got out of bed and tip-toed downstairs, careful not to wake Lucy up.

My mom was in the kitchen, grasping the counter like her life depended on it. She had a horrified expression on her face.

"What is it mother?" I asked, my voice ringing with fear.

"We need to go to the hospital now. Grandma's blood preassure came crashing down and she's in a critical comdition."

I just stared at her, my body completely numb. I couldn't move.

"We can't take Lucy with us, the nurse said that no kids under 15. Apparently the scenario is traumatic." She said.

I was out of words so I nodded.

"Come on we have to hurry. Put some pants and a jacket on, we're leaving in two minutes." She said and scurried out of the room.

I snapped into the reality and ran up to my room and got the first clothes I could find and threw them on. I hurried downstairs only to find my mum at the front door motioning me to rush over to her.

"Lucy didn't wake up did she?" She asked out of breath and I shook my head no.

We got in the car and I slammed the door closed.

Mum drove as quickly as she could. I prayed for grandma. We needed to get there in time. I was so afraid that she will die. Her life was hanging by a thread.

"How close are we?" I asked mum.

"Just five minutes darling. I think we'll make it in time." She said.

I nodded and all of a sudden mum's phone started ringing in her purse. My eyes widened and we shared a horrified look. I got the phone from her purse and handed it her while she pulled over to a bus stop.

She picked up the phone. She greeted the person but then stopped saying anything. I could hear the other person at the end of the line but I couldn't make out words. My eyes were closed. I couldn't bear to look at her.

"Okay, we'll be there in a bit. Thank you." She sniffed.

I opened my eyes and finally looked her in the eyes.

For a while we didn't say anything, until she finally cleared her throat.

"It's too late." She whispered.

Tears began flowing down my cheeks. At the moment I couldn't even realize what was happening but I just cried.

We sat there without saying a word for a while before mum wiped his cheeks and said:" We have to go see her, the doctors are expecting us." and started the engine.

By the moment we got to the hospital I was a mess. No, a trainwreck would be a better description.

We got out of the car and walked into the building in silence.

The minute we stepped in, we were greeted by grandmother's doctor.

"Mrs. and miss Reynolds? I'm so sorry for your loss." He said. I bet he's just used to saying that, he doesn't really care.

Wait why am I saying that? He's a nice person who probably did everything he could to save grandma and he has a loving family. I shouldn't blame him.
