Chapter 44

❖Anna❖

The front door opens and Christy and I jump up from our seated positions.
"Where is she?" I hear Gabriel ask.
Aro answers and before I can blink, I see Gabriel in the doorway.
"Gabriel."
"Anna." He answers.

I can't hold back any longer and run towards him, jumping into his arms. I wrap my legs around his waist and his arms automatically wrap around my waist, with his hands underneath my bum, to support me and keep me up.

"I was so worried." I say, as I put my hands on his cheeks, checking his face for any injuries.
"I told you I would come back to you mio angelo."
"Yes you did." I answer and smash my lips onto his.
"Let's go upstairs." Gabriel says as we stop kissing to catch our breath.
His arms wrap around me tighter as he carries me to our room, where we celebrate his victory.

I wake up with an empty spot next to me. The matters however still feels warm, which means that Gabriel most have woken up not to long ago.
I took around the room and notice that there is light coming from the bathroom.

With a yawn, I slowly get out of the bed and walk towards the bathroom.
When I open the door, I'm shocked by what I see. "You're bleeding!" I say as I quickly walk over to Gabriel to inspect his wound.

"It's nothing angel. Just pulled one of the stitches out last night."
"I'm so sorry Gabriel. If I had known, then I wouldn't have done,"
"Then I'm glad you didn't know about it." Gabriel interrupts with a wink. "Trust me angel. I don't feel a thing."

He turns towards me and wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me into him. "What about yourself?"
"I'm okay." I answer with a small voice, getting a little shy once I understand what he means.
"I didn't hurt you, did I? I tried to go slow."
"No Gabriel, you didn't hurt me. Plus, it wasn't the first time."
"It was the first time after you came back angel. I don't care what happened there. You didn't want that all to happen, so it doesn't count. Sex only counts if you're okay with it." He says, leaving no room for arguing.

"I'm your first and your last Anna, because I'll be damned if I ever let anyone else touch you ever again."
A blush creeps up on my cheeks and Gabriel chuckles.
"Go get ready angel, then we can have some breakfast together before I have to go to the warehouse." He leaves a sweet kiss on my forehead and walks out of the bathroom,
giving me some space to prepare myself for the day.

❖Gabriel❖

After breakfast with Anna, I drive to the warehouse.
Today's plan is to find out if there is any more information about Bratstvo that we need to know about before we take over all their places. Lucky for us, we can kick everything we need to know, out of their leader.

River is already waiting for me outside the warehouse and together we walk in.
"The gang leaders are already in the meeting room. They said that they had their crews ready and are waiting for you to get their instructions."
"Good. I'll go there first, to make sure that it'll go smoothly, after that I'd like to pay our guest a little visit."
"Then I'll be coming down with you." River says.
"I was actually planning on letting you handle the assignments with the gangs."
"Raphael can handle that. I'm accompanying you to the cellars Gabriel."
"If that's what you want."

"Did Nicolaas or Elliot find out anything yet?" I ask as we enter the hall where our meeting room is.
"They've been searching all morning, but haven't found anything new yet. We can safely assume that we already know everything there is to know about Bratstvo."
"Good. But we're still gonna have some fun with Samuel."
We stop in front of the door of the meeting room. Muffled voices can be heard from within. "Let's get this over with."

"Good morning gentleman." I say as I step in. River closes the door behind us and we take a seat at the head of the table.
"I'm glad to see you all here again today. I would, once again, like to thank you all for our success yesterday. Without the help of your crews it wouldn't have ended the way it did. You will notice my gratefulness in your bank accounts somewhere in the upcoming week."

I look around the room for a moment before I continue. "You're all aware of our new guests in the cellars. My priority currently lies with interrogating them and punishing them for what they've done. So I'm leaving you all in the very capable hands of my third, Raphael, as me and my second will go down to visit our guests.
If there are any questions left after this meeting, feel free to contact me and I will explain everything."

I stand up and leave the room, knowing that no one will go against me, and make my way towards the cellars.

"Let's start with Anna's father." I say to River as we enter the room. "We can have some quality time with Samuel after. I'm also pretty sure that the others want to be here for that as well. They must be done with their things once we finish with the father."
"I'll text them." River says and I walk to Tom's, Anna's father's, cellar.

"My dearest father in law, we meet again." I grab him at the back of his neck and throw him on the chair that's standing in the middle of the room.
"You're an asshole." He says and I look down at him with a wicked grin.
"I am indeed. Then again, it is your own fault that you're here. You've hurt my girl. So now it's time for you to feel the same pain that you've been giving her all these years."
I see a shudder going over his body and I know that he's scared, which will only make this so much more satisfying. "Don't be scared Tom. You won't die here. We got something special planned for that."
River hands me one of my 'toys' and I start to do what I'm good at; making people scream.

❖Anna❖

I have no clue how I did it, but I somehow convinced Gabriel to let me visit Rose at Pub Gun. I haven't seen her since that night I was taken. I missed her.
Of course, Gabriel wouldn't let me go on my own though, but Christy and the twins came along with me, so it's fun.

We're currently sitting in a booth at the back of the pub, Il Capello's usual spot.
"Funny." Christy says. "Normally one of us would be bringing drinks to this table. Now they are being brought to us. How the table," she says with a nod towards the table, "has turned."
The twins look at each other with big eyes before they practically fall on the ground from laughter.

"You need to spend some more time with other people Christy. You're taking over Raphael's dry humour. Even the twins have better jokes." I say to her with a serious look on my face.
"Of course we have better jokes!" Aro says. "Because we are brilliant." Joel finishes.

"Anna!" Rose walks towards us with a big smile on her face and her arms open wide.
I quickly stand up and hug her tightly. "Hello Rose."
"It's so good to see you again my sweet girl. You had us all worried here."
"I'm sorry that I didn't come by earlier Rose."
"Don't be sorry silly. I knew you would come in ones it was safe for you. I'm just so glad to see you again. That boy of yours can be happy that he listened to me, otherwise he would have been in a lot of trouble with me. Speaking of him, where is he?"
"He'll come by later to pick us up."

Rose sits down at our booth and we talk about everything that has happened since the last time that we've seen each other.
After a while Gabriel and Raphael walk in and we decide to go home.

"How did it go?" Gabriel asks as he starts to drive.
"It was really good to see her again."
"I'm glad you've enjoyed yourself angel. Next I'll come along too."
"Deal." I answer with a giggle and we drive off as the sky starts to turn dark.
