"Hey Dick! I'm gonna pick something up on the way home and forgot to ask what you wanted before I left the Precinct. Preference?" I asked through the phone.
"Sure babe... uhh... just get me..." his voice got farther and farther from the phone.
"Baby? Dick?"
After a few seconds, he spoke into the phone "suit up. Robbery at the bank two streets over."
I sighed. Can't we just have one night to ourselves? I just want to get some takeout, sit on the couch, and maybe cuddle a bit. That's all I'm asking! I don't want a nice night out or fancy restaurants, I just want a night in!
I yanked the steering wheel to the side and did a totally illegal u-turn. Cars behind me honked and flipped me the bird.
