Chapter Twelve: A Goodnight Kiss

Niall's P.O. V.

Lexy opened the door, wrapped in a towel and ran in. She slammed the door and sat down and cried. Why was she crying? I paused my round of Mario Kart and looked up, "What's wrong, babe?"

She just sat there and sobbed more, so I got up and sat down next to her, behind my door. I said, "Why don't you put on your pajamas and then come talk to me?"

"Ok." She said. Then she got up and said, "Close your eyes."

I covered my eyes, leaving a tiny peephole.

"Niall, are you peeking?"

"No," I lied. I can't help it. She's gorgeous.

"Yes you are. I can see your eyes." She ran to my bed and grabbed my blanket. Then she threw it over my head. "Now, you can't peek."

She put on her clothes and then said, "Ok, now you may take your blanket off."

I took off my blanket off my head, revealing a messy head. "Now tell me, babe, what's the matter?"

She sat down on my bed and said, "Louis kissed me." Then she started sobbing again.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. Louis KISSED her? I mean we were both falling for her hard, but since when was it okay to kiss her? My eyes widened to her news. I got up and sat next to her on my bed.

"And Harry got mad and left. And now, I don't know what to do! I'm scared, Niall!" She put her around me and sobbed into my shoulders.

I put my arm on her shoulder and rubbed her back. "Shhh. It's going to be okay. There's nothing to worry. I will help you get through this. I promise." I held her hand and kissed her forehead. And we just there for a moment. I hated seeing her like this. It hurts me to see her sad.

There was a knock on my door. "It's Louis. Can I speak to Lexy?"

Lexy looked up at me and shook her head.

"No," I said, "She doesn't want to see you."

"Why not?"

"She's upset. Just leave her alone." I still saw Louis' shadow outside my door. I ignored him and turned to Lexy and whispered, "Do you want me to sing a song to you?"

She nodded. I scooted my bafk to the headboard of my bed to gain more balance as I hold Lexy in my arms, who was still weeping quietly. "You never love yourself half as much as I love you. YOu never treat yourself right darling but I want you to. If I let you know that I'm here for you, maybe you'll love yourself..." I stopped to see Lexy had fallen asleep in my arms. It felt like a dream come true. But she didn't love me, she loved Harry, and only Harry. I was just a friend to her.

I whispered the last words of the song verse in her ear, "Like I... love you." I put her down on my bed and thre my blanket over her. I kissed her forehead and whispered, "Goodnight, darling." A smile formed across her face. I turned off Mario Kart and grabbed a different blanket from my closet. Walking out the door, I saw Louis on the floor, sad and sulken. I knew how much he loved her like I love her like Harry loves her. I just closed my head and headed to the living room. I was sleeping on the couch tonight.

Liam's P.O.V

I walked into the kitchen from my car and saw Niall sleeping on the living room couch. That's strange. Shouldn't he be sleeping in his room? And where's Harry and Lexy? Why is Louis on the floor in front of Niall's door? Why isn't Zayn back yet?

I tried to nudge him awake. "Pssst. Niall. Lad, wake up. Niall."

"Leave me alone, Liam. I'm tired." Niall murmured.

"What if I have Nando's?" I said and waved the bag in fron of Niall, releasing the aroma of the food.

Niall's nose twitched for a second, then he shot up, eyes wide, tongue out... like a puppy. "Nando's!! Gimme, gimme, gimme!" He tried to grab the bag, but I hid it behind my back.

"Nah-ah-ah! Not until you tell me why you're sleeping on the couch."

"Fine. Because Lexy's on my bed. Now GIMME."

"Not yet. Why is Lexy on your bed? What happened? And why is Louis on the floor in front of your door?"

Niall sighed and continued, "Two hours ago, I was in my room playing Mario Kart, then I heard Lexy came in looking for Harry. Then I saw Louis passed my door into the kitchen. Then Harry came back from the interview he had with Sugarscope. Something happened because Harry was yelling at Louis, then he left. I heard he slammed the kitchen door then his car door. Then Lexy came crying to me, then I calmed her down and she went to sleep. NOW GIVE ME THE NANDO'S."

I sighed and hand Niall the bag.

"Yay!" Niall cheered as he grabbed the bag from my hand. He opened the bag and started stuffing his face with Peri Peri Chicken. What a hungry boy.

I walked over to Louis and next down next to him. "So what happened, lad? Why did he yell at you?"

"Because. I. Kissed. Her."

My eyes widened and my mouth dropped open.
