Ellie's POV:

Remember when I was first discharged from a hospital, a reporter asked if I was in the hospital for the treatment of my heart defect?

Yeah well, today I found out what that heart defect is.

After Steve left the room, Aidan and I started a conversation about mindless stuff. We talked about anything and everything that came to mind. Never once did we bring up the incident.

Mostly though, we talked about Jake and Aidan's adventurous stories. In which Aidan told me about what Jake and him did for thrill and fun.

About 10 minutes into our conversation, a knock sounded on the door.

We both looked in the direction of the door to see the doctor. He came into the room and closed the door behind him.

"Doctor? Is everything alright?" Aidan asked him.

"If you're asking about the burns and bruises then yes everything is okay." The doctor said.

"Then what's the matter?"

"Ellie's injuries will heal in no time. But there is something else I'm suspicious about. I want to ask Ellie a few questions before I make my diagnosis." He said.

Aidan leaned back in his chair and put his arms behind his head. "Okay then. Ask."

Seeing as Aidan has made himself as comfortable as he could in a plastic chair, the doctor didn't bother to ask him to leave.

Instead he turned to me and asked, "Do you feel very tired after doing any kind of activity?"

I had to think really hard on that one because I don't exactly remember if I did any activities.

I thought an thought when suddenly I remembered what had went down when we went to the burned down house and found the letter.

We had to run and I started to cough.

"Ellie?" Aidan's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Huh? Oh... Yes I do." I said remembering that I had to answer the doctor's question.

The doctor wrote something down on his paper that he brought with him and asked another question. "Do you have a poor appetite or shortness of breath?"

I didn't have to think about that. "Yes."

He asked a few more questions and kept on making notes on his paper.

I only answered with a 'yes' or 'on'.

After his questioning, he took his stethoscope off his neck and listened to my heart.

Whatever he found, he didn't like it.

He shook his head a little and said, "I want to take a test before I confirm my suspensions."

"What test?" Aidan asked.

"It's called echocardiogram. Basically it's an ultrasound of the heart." He said.

Bloody hell! What's up with my heart?

"The... Heart?" I asked slowly.

"Yes... Don't worry though. You'll be fine."

I highly doubt that considering that I'm about to die from nervousness and fear.

I was taken to another room for the echo-whatever. The doctor - who I finally found out was doctor Kevin - took his sweet time in doing his job.

At least that's what I thought he did. He looked at the screen as he moved some sort of instrument around my heart area.
