Michael stood in the booth with the backup singers for the umpteenth time, nodding at Rod.
At first, he was embarrassed for Delilah to see his unfinished work but now as he looked up to the mic–he couldn't wait for her arrival.
As the music played he hoped that she'd still come. He felt so unsure of the song and if he could just see her smile of approval then everything would be just fine.
He closed his eyes and began to rock side to side to the beat– preparing to sing the lyrics he memorized within hours.
" When the world is on your shoulder, gotta straighten up your act and boogie down. If you can't hang with the feelin'. Then there ain't no room for you this part of town."
Delilah entered behind Robert gasping at the sound, seeing the way he performed in the booth so expertly.

An abundance of relief and happiness filled inside of him and produced his bright smile.
He could feel his energy rising while he continued his footwork– snapping while swinging his arms back and forth to the rhythm.
" God look at him go," Robert said causing Delilah to blush once Michael winked at her.
Nearly everyone in the room bobbed their head for Michael's aura made it hard not to.
