Chapter 22

“How is she now?” Charlotte asked.

“She’s still not talking to me.” Danielle sighed. “It’s been almost two months already.”

“Not even a single word?”

“No. except important things, like if she has a work to do or she has to go somewhere, she would tell.” Danielle shifted the phone to her other ear. “But usually she wouldn’t even bother to talk to me. She’d tell Annie to pass it on to me.”

Danielle was on the phone with Charlotte. Two months has passed. Her baby is four months old now. Life was hard for Danielle. Having to hide every time she goes out, worrying people would recognize her, and finding out about her condition.

“I’m sorry I can’t come over anymore.”

“It’s okay.” Danielle sighed again.

“I don’t know what's wrong with her,” Charlotte frowned. “Usually, she wouldn’t even care where I go, or who I'm with, when I come home, things like that. But now she’s grounded me, she wouldn’t allow me to go to your house or even meet you anymore.”

“But for how long?”

“I don’t know.” Charlotte shrugged. “I guess sooner or later she’ll forget about the grounding, so I’ll come to your house as soon as I get the chance.”

Danielle kept silent.

“Danny?”

“Yeah?”

“Don’t be sad.” Charlotte bit her lip. “Its not that we’ll never meet again.”

“I'm not worried about that.” Danielle played with the telephone cord. “I'm worried about mom, and my baby. When night falls, who will help me if I get sick? Usually, you would be there. And if I get cramps, or feel like vomiting, who would help me to the toilet?”

“Look, Danny, I'm really sorry.” Charlotte apologized. “Its not that I don’t want to help you, it’s my stupid stepmom’s fault. Grounding me when she knows you need me.”

“Your mom knows? You think she’ll tell anyone?”

“Nah, she got no one to tell.” Charlotte put the phone to her other ear. “Look Danny, if you feel like vomiting in the middle of the night, prepare a bucket, or a pail, or a plastic bag. Otherwise you’ll have to walk to the restroom, and with your baby weighting you down, I don’t think you’ll make it. You’ll just end up vomiting on the floor, and that’ll be twice the work for you.”

“Okay. I’ll do as you say.”

“Hey Dan,” charlotte lay on her bed. “Have you contact Greyson lately?”

“Yeah, a few days ago on twitter.”

“You didn’t call him?”

“No. Greyson is always changing his number. Sometimes he changes it twice a week. So I guess I could only contact him through twitter, or Skype.”

“Yeah, same with me and Cody.”

“I’ve called Greyson three times since we left him though.”

“Hey Dan, I haven’t seen you on twitter for a long time. Why is that?”

“Well, I didn’t want to answer the questions his fans ask me. They are always asking me where I am. Or why aren’t I with Greyson.” Danielle sighed. “Anyway, I’m not in the mood to go online. I'm always, exhausted, even though I’m doing nothing.”

“Oh. But will you go online tonight? I want to Skype with you.”

“Yeah, okay.”

Suddenly, Danielle heard voices shouting in the background.
