Naruto POV

I landed next to Akira, who was standing in the shade of the trees, watching as the two Black Tengu tried again and again to land a hit on a member of team Daiku. It would seem that the defending shinobi were easily winning, but I could see, that everyone but Temari was low on chakra. They were younger than my team and they had been put together just recently, because of that, they were lacking coordination and had to spend more chakra individually to be able to help each other. I didn't want to risk anything, so I leaned down to Akira and whispered something in her ear. The white tigress nodded and stood up, slowly growing until her head was at the same height as mine. I nodded at her and she jumped away.

The two Black Tengu failed to land a hit again. Jumping back they thought about another attack plan, that would have higher chances of success. They were brought out of their thinking when they saw that their enemies relaxed and began to lower their weapons. A confused look at each other later, they were just about to jump at that mistake to attack them, when they heard something growling behind them.

I smiled, as they slowly turned and I saw their eyes widen. The right one looked at his teammate and went through a series of communicative hand signs. The other’s eyes widened but he nodded, before he fell back and drew a short sword. I tensed at that and watched intently as Akira pounced on her target, struggling with it for a while, before being able to knock the shinobi to the ground and his weapons out of his hands.

I was so drawn in by this fight, that I almost forgot about the other Black Tengu. I looked all over the battlefield for him and found him just as he was running at Temari, who was also captivated by the gruesome display of strength by Akira. I did the only thing I could think of, seeing my girlfriend in danger, and focused on the special ring that I had given her for our two year anniversary.

Temari POV

As I watched Akira deal with her prey suddenly there was a bright flash of red and gold, cutting through the field and ending next to me. I knew who it was but I was still shocked, since I didn't think that Naruto would reveal his heritage in front of the council members. I turned around and my eyes widened as I saw why my boyfriend had used the Hiraishin. Just half a meter away from me stood Naruto, his back towards me. In front of him was the last remaining member of the Black Tengu squad, sword in hand and the tip of it just short of touching my skin. I knew that Naruto had his sword in his hands and that it was most likely going clean through my attacker’s heart. I heard him pull his sword out and saw the sword from the Black Tengu fall to the ground as the body of the shinobi slumped backwards.

I watched as everyone slowly got out of the shocked state that they were in. The council members screamed, as they looked at Naruto and the dead body in front of him. My teammates put their weapons away and Joaba undid the protective barrier around the council, relaxing at the sight of Naruto and his summon, dominating their enemies.

“Akira that is enough.”, Naruto said just loud enough that the tiger heard him. He turned around as his partner walked over to him. They gave an horrific image. Naruto bloody from head to toes with his sword in right hand and the other hand stretched out to his tiger, who once was white but had gotten red spots on it’s fur. I smiled at him and fell him around his neck. Naruto smiled at me, before turning looking down, seeing the blood we had just smeared all over ourselves. I laughed at the face that the council members made, as we seperated. My boyfriend nodded at Akira and she exploded into smoke, disappearing home to rest, while he blinded everyone with a golden flash. I barely felt him touching me, but when our eyes had readjusted to the normal light I was cleaned from all the blood and had a cold feeling on my lips, like after a quick peck. Naruto himself stood next to me with a smile on his face, not a drop of blood on him and his sword sheathed away on his back.

The council looked even more stupid this time, while my team just wondered how he did that, since he never told anyone. “Don't worry, he is on our side.”, I heard Shiji tell the council when they went over to them and the council went behind my team as Naruto and I went over to the group. I sighed, it would be a long rest, explaining to the council why we had not told them about Naruto or his team. Naruto patted me on the back and looked towards the treeline, where his team came into the clearing, Hori being supported by Gabu and Paira lurking behind them.

After everything had settled, the elder council woman, whose name was Akuja and who apparently was something of a leader on the council, came up to us and pulled me aside. “Who are they?”, she demanded to know, with a look at team Daiku and I sighed motioning for the other citizens of Ishigakure to come over and also for Naruto to join me.

Naruto sat down next to me, crossing his legs and laid his arms on his legs. The council sat down opposite of us with a bit of distance. “So again, who are they and who is he?”, Akuja asked for the second time. I looked at Naruto who just shrugged his shoulders. “He is Nine, he is the captain of the team that has just saved us. As for the others and why they are here… well, you see, your concerns were right from the start. Iwa has gotten word that you want to sign the treaty with us, so the Kazekage had ordered for me and team Shiro along with him and team Daiku to escort you to Suna. However he put his trust in me and Nine to work out a strategy to defend you against anything. So we decided that first only team Shiro would accompany you, while I stayed in the shadows as a hidden defense layer, which worked out great when we first got attacked, and that Nine and his team would stay hidden even after I had revealed myself to fend of any other threats.”, I explained.

The council nodded along, apparently understanding why we had made the decisions.

“You know, I fought against your father. I must say another flash would be most unsettling if he wasn’t on our side.”, a man in his fifties spoke up, looking at Naruto directly, earning a gasp from some of his fellow council members. My eyes went wide as I heard Naruto chuckle. “I guess it was foolish to hope for noone to remember that jutsu.”, he said, before taking off his face mask. “You are right, I am the son of the fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. My name is Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze.”, he said, as he smiled at the council. “Is there anything else, that you have to tell us about?”, Akuja asked, looking at me with suspicion in her eyes. “Nothing that concerns you.”, I replied, while Naruto retied his mask. “Ok, now that you know, who I am, what about me cutting this trip short?”, he asked me. “I won't take the blame from Gaara.”, I replied, receiving yet another shoulder shrug. “I know.”, came from my boyfriend, before he called everyone over and a flash covered the clearing
