Y/n's pov
I'm currently driving around in the firetruck with a few other coworkers and we get a call on the radio. We are on our way in response to a house fire and once we get there we see that the fire is so large its catching the other house that is next to it on fire as well. We quickly set up the fire hose and I evaluate the situation. I scan the area and see that off the balcony there is a woman flailing her arms back and forth.
"We have one woman trapped by the flames on the second floor balcony" I say pointing towards her "Get the ladder ready". We get the ladder set up and by this time two more trucks show up and help try to put out this house fire as well as the fire that is spreading on the other house. I get geared up in extra protection as I get ready to climb up the ladder to the woman on the balcony. I make my way up the ladder and onto the balcony I see that my team set up the giant air bag below for me to toss her down on.
"There is one more person inside she's trapped down the hall" She says and I nod my head
"Alright ma'am I'm going to throw you down onto that air bag alright, when you roll off my medical team is going to tend to you. I'm going to get your friend" I say causing her to nod. I toss her onto the airbag and then make my way into the connecting bedroom through the balcony door. I kick down the main bedroom door and pull my mask down as I'm instantly met with smoke and flames. I faintly hear yelling over all the noise the fire is making and I carefully make my way down the hallway.
"Which room are you in" I yell out and try to follow the voice and soon enough I get to the correct room and yell for the person to stay away from the door as I kick it down. I see the woman coughing due to all the smoke she has no doubt breathed in so I rush over to her and put my mask over her face. I quickly turn and lead us to the hallway.
"Okay were going to go back the way I came I'm okay just follow me" I say walking down the hallway but quickly pull us back as some of the ceiling comes crashing down
"Okay so we're not going that way" I mumble leading us back down the other side of the hallway I speak into my walking telling them to more the air bag to around the back of the house and fast as more of the house was starting to collapse. I lead us back into the room where we just left and turn to the women once I see the giant air bag set up outside the room.
"Okay look I am going to bust open this window but that's going to cause flames to come rushing into this room so as soon as I bust the window open I'm going to throw you out onto that air bag below" I say coughing a little as the smoke is starting to get to me.
"What about you?" she asks and I smile lightly.
"I'll be right behind you" I say. I grab onto her then bust the window open quickly throw her out as the flames rush through the room and I quickly jump out and land right beside her on the air bag. We roll off the bag and I instantly get an oxygen mask put around my face and I thank the person for it and I start to breath in deep breaths. I sit walk over to the truck and lean against it as I watch the rest of my team put the fire out. I feel a tap on my shoulder and look over to see the woman I just rescued and she hands my mask back to me. I time this time to actually scan her features and she's beautiful she has long brown hair and big brown eyes that you could get lost in, I clear my throat.
"Um yes?" I ask slightly tilting my head to the side.
"Um I just came to give you your mask back, and to thank you" she says and I nod
"No need to thank me, I was just doing my job" I say
"I know but still thank you. Um maybe I can make it up to you" she says and I look up to see a light blush on her face.
"Sure" I nod
"Right, can I get your number so we can set up a day" She asks and I give her my number which she puts in her phone.
"Um what's your name?" I ask
"Tobin" she smiles "I'll see you around Y/n" she smiles
"How did you-"
"Your name is on your uniform" she smiles causing me to blush slightly
"Oh uh yeah I forgot" I saw rubbing the back of my head causing her to chuckle
"Well thank you again Y/n" she says taking a step forward and kissing my cheek and then turns to walk away. I place my hand on my cheek and smile to myself
