5, 000 Miles

5, 000 miles give or take a few,

that's how many miles between me and you.

Time moves forward,

yet time stands still,

though as all our words are spoken one thing is very clear.

We're similar in many ways,

and different where it maters.

I understand the way you think,

you relate to all my problems.

You read my thoughts and I finish yours,

we enjoy each others presence.

It's very clear for all to see

were perfect for one another.

5, 000 miles seems very far,

some would say not worth the trouble.

I disagree because I'm me,

and I know your worth the sorrow.

Distance is a minor thing,

we can't always live for tomorrow.

These feeling that we now do share

will last there is no doubt.

One day soon I'll be with you

And we will finally see what love is all about.

I will rest in your arms,

Take comfort in your heat,

Smile and laugh as soon as we meet.

The day will come soon,

so trust in above,

5, 000 miles will strengthen our love.
