Falling used to be the easy part.
A sensational rush of feelings.
Something that couldn't be helped,
something that couldn't be stopped.
The walls are up now,
enforced by metals I have concocted.
They protect me from the evils.
No one should blame me for my mistrust.
No one should try to break the barricade.
A broken girl hides within.
Terrified the next time she trusts will be her last.
The inevitable heartbreak finally destroying her, extinguishing the last flicker of hope.
A hope that someone, somewhere does care.
That someone could love her for who she is.
Not what they want her to be,
or who she could become.
Yet no one wants a girl so broken.
No one likes a girl who's scared.
No one has, maybe someone will.
