A Book of Poetry

Someone

Try as I might I can't seem to get

This resonating voice out of my head 

I want to forget, want to deny

The feelings I keep bottled up inside.

Its easier to burry the memories down deep

Cast aside the what ifs

The maybes

Could bes

No I don't understand why it has to be this way

Can't grasp your logic

But I feel your pain

You want me to step back

You want me to pretend

The sad truth is

I don't think we could just be friends

You're in my thoughts

And you're in my dreams

You'd think I'm crazy

But you're all I see

Some people come into our lives at times

It could be a low, it could be a high

They come at the time they are needed the most

To guide us along on the path we chose

Some show us a dark side we want to avoid

Or maybe remind us to try and be kind

To think before speaking or not tell a lie

Others inspire and bring meaning to our lives

You can't see it now your too down on yourself

You're one in a million

A treasure

A gem
