Chapter 13

July 21 1965

Steve's POV
Baby hugged me the whole night, and I hugged her back. I had the best sleep in my life. Yesterday night I broke up with Evie. I loved Baby and I want to be with her not Evie. That's why I went to her house and woke her up I think.

I looked at baby. Her head was on my chest and she hugged me tightly but not that tight. She looked so cute and peaceful.
I moved her hair and smiled.
"Good morning Stevie" She said stretching
"Good morning beautiful" I smiled
"How did you sleep?" I asked her
"Amazing" she smiled and I smiled back
"Um baby I- we-um-well, can you go out with me like on a date today."i did it I asked her
"Yes!" She squealed and hugged me tightly.
"You don't know how long I've been wanting to go out with you Steve." She said
I smiled
"Wait what about Evie?" She broke the hug
"I didn't love her like I love you so I broke up with her last night" i grinned, she smiled and hugged me again.
"I love you babygirl rose blue" I looked into her hazel eyes
"I love you more" she kissed my cheek
"Good morning!" Lollipop jumped in the bed.
"Good morning Lolli" Baby said hugging and kissing her
"Good morning prince" she said smiling. I guess that was what she calls me. Baby never told me why she calls me that though.
"Hey, Why do you call me prince?" I asked Lolli
"Well when baby was telling me bed time stories she would always put you as the prince. Most stories were about you." Lolli looked at me with her big blue eyes that looked like crystals.
"Is that true babygirl" I smirked at baby
"Maybe.... yes it is true, I talked about you because I love you" She said blushing
"I love you" I kissed her nose
"I love you more" she said back
"Come on breakfast is ready mama made pancakes" Lolli said running out the door
"Steve you coming?" Baby asked me starting up
"I mean your parents don't know that I am home and you know they might assume" I was getting a bit worried
"It's fine Steve they will understand." She grabbed my hand and we walked down stairs.
"Good morning" Mrs, blue said looking up at baby and me
"Can Steve eat breakfast with us today?" Baby asked her parents
"Of course" Mrs. blue put another plate on the table
"Thank you" I smiled
"Anytime dear" her mom smiled
"Hello Steve How was your morning?" Mr. blue looked up from his newspaper
"Oh good, my morning was great" I nodded
"That's good" her sad nodded back
"Okay so here are the pancakes" mrs blue put 2 pancakes on my plate.
"Do you guys have chocolate cake?" I asked them
"Let me check" Mrs blue got up and checked her fridge
"Why do you want chocolate cake?" Lolli asked me
"Well, ever since I was your age I ate chocolate cake for breakfast and it started off my day with happiness each morning" I lightly chucked
Baby giggled and smiled at me.

"Thank you for the breakfast" I said smiling
"No problem" Mrs blue grinned
Babygirl got up and we went to her room.
"So where are we going on a date mr. Randle" Baby winked
"Well if you want we can go to a fancy dinner" I scratched my neck. I honestly don't know what place I should go out with baby, I want to show her that I love her but I don't know how.
"No, Steve you are not wasting money on me, it's too expensive" baby said shaking her head
"Then let's eat some where and go to this special place that helps me relax sometimes" I held her hand
"Now that I like." She smiled
"I have to change, I'll pick you up at 5" I smiled
"See you soon" I kissed her nose and left out of her window to the Curtis house.

Babygirl's POV
IM GOING ON A DATE WITH STEVE!!!!!
I jumped up and down on my bed. I squealed, smiled and jumped.
"What is going on in here?" Papa opened my door
"I'm going on a date!" I smiled and jumped
"With who do I know this person, do I trust him, is he a good guy?" Papa kept asking me questions
"Papa calm down, I'm going out with Steve." I squealed and jumped up and down.
"Oh, okay, good thing it's just steve" my papa smiled
"Where are you going?"Papa Gave me a look
"We are going to eat dinner and then we are going to the park I think" I couldn't stop smiling
"Be home before 12" papa walked out of my room to the attic, my parents and Lolli are probably going to fix her room all day.
I am going to take a bath, do my make up and put on my dress.

Steve's POV
I walked proudly to the Curtis house. I knocked on the door, and smiled to myself. I honestly daydreamed about baby the whole way.
"Steve since when do you knock?" Ponyboy answered the door. I just smiled and ignored him. I walked into the house and flopped on the couch and kept smiling.
"What is up with him?" Two laughed
"Did you and Evie..?"Soda asked wiggling his eyebrows
"No" I sighed and smiled
"Then What has got you in a trans?" Johnny asked
"Babygirl" I sighed and smiled
"Steve What about Evie? You can't break up with her." Soda said concerned
"I broke up with that slut. I'm going out with the girl of my dreams today" I daydreamed
"You asked out Baby!?" The whole gang yelled
"Spill the beans" soda sat next to me and the gang sat in a circle
"Yesterday night, I broke up with Evie, she threw a plate at me. She missed. I ran to baby's house and knocked on her window. I was going to ask her out right there but she told me to go up into her room. Lolli was sleeping I. The bean bag chair so we couldn't make too much noise. She asked me why I was at her house and I just said that I missed her, and I lied about going home to my drunk father.
She told me to stay so I laid on the floor like always cause you know it was her bed and I don't want to invade her space. She told me to sleep with her. Not in the dirty way guys. So I said okay and laid on the bed with her. She hugged me all night and her head was in my chest. I could feel her heart beat." I zoned out
"Steve!" They all yelled
"Sorry geez, so this morning I asked her out and she said yes so I'm going out with her" I smiled
"Way to go Steve" soda patted my back
"Steve can I talk to you outside?" Dally asked me as he stood up
"Y-eah" my voice cracked

We walked to the porch and dally looked at me straight in the eye
"Steve Randle, If you break babygirl's heart I with break you, or even if you make her upset, I will hunt you down and rip you piece by piece, until you are fully drenched in blood. You hear." Dally scared the living shit out of me.
"Y-yeah" I said nervously
"It's not yeah, it's yes"
"Yes" my hands started sweating
"Okay, good luck Steve-o" he patted my back and went inside
I finally took a deep breath.
"What was that all about?" Soda chucked
"Oh Dally just said that he would kill me if I made baby unhappy or I broke her heart he would break me. Totally nothing that would make me get even more nervous that I actually am" i bit my lip
"Your fine. Now come in we best get you ready" Soda said patting my shoulder. What's with all the parting geez.
