Chapter 3

Steve^^^
June 2 1965

Steve POV
She fell asleep, and it was so cute. We are only friends. ONLY FRIENDS STEVE!! I said to my self in my mind.
"Steve What ya doing?" Dally said smirking
"Nothing" I said playing with her hair
"Yeah ya are" pony said chucking
"What am I doing?" I said looking at them
"You are playing with baby's hair" Johnny whispered
"Yeah and it doesn't mean nothing. I'm just her best friend." I was still playing with her hair
Baby started moving and I put my hands up. Everyone stayed quiet until she stopped moving
I noticed that she was crying in her sleep.
"Baby wake up. It's just a dream." I said shaking her lightly
"Steve don't wake 'er up she is sleeping" Pony said getting up
"She's crying!" I yelled at them
I shook her a bit more
"Baby it's okay don't cry, it's just a dream" I told her
She shot up panting and crying
"Steve!" She hugged me tight and cried in my shoulder
"It's okay baby it was just a dream" I rubbed her back
"It felt l-like more" she cried, I hugged her tight.
"Baby we are here don't worry, don't cry, you beautiful face is going to get ruined." I said wiping her tears away.
"Thank you Steve, I'm going to get some fresh air" she gave me a smile and walked to the porch.
"What was all that about?" Dally asked smirking
"Shut up!" I got up and walked to the porch to see her

Babygirl's POV
I had a really bad dream, about all the guys, and how they died. And I saw them die. That's why I was crying. I know I just met them but they mean a lot to me now.
Steve was the one who comforted me and I liked that. It shows that he cares.

I went outside to take a breath of fresh air.
I sat down and looked up at the sky, tears started screaming down my face.
I don't want to lose these boys, I know I just met them but they mean way too much o me and I never had friends like that, so I don't want to lose them.
I sniffed and cried silently. I got the flower the I saw the day before, and smelled it.
I put the flower back and looked at the setting sun. It calmed me down.

I got up and went back inside.
"Hey Guys I'm going to head home, my parents must be wondering were I am." I looked down
"But aren't you going to stay the night?" Johnny gave me his puppy eyes
"Y-yeah, umm, but can I go get my things?" I stuttered
"Want us to come, it's real dangerous at night" Pony said getting up
"I-i guess" they both got up and we left to my house.

At baby's house:
"Wow" Johnny's eyes widened
"Hmm?" I tilted my head in confusion
"Your house is real nice" pony complemented
"Thank you, um come in" I opened the door and there was my mama and papa, eating.
"Sorry to interrupt, but mama papa these are my friends, I'm saying over at his house, I just forgot some stuff here." I said quickly.
"Nice too meet you boys" my mama said politely, my dad just gave them a smile.
I started walking to the stairs but noticed the boys were still standing there awkwardly.
"Hmm- Guys you coming" I said loudly that way they could hear
"Oh ya" pony walked up the stairs and so did Johnny.
"Your folks are nice" Johnny sighed
"Thank you." I said grabbing my mini back pack, I put my pjs and some clothes in bag.
"Okay let's go." I grabbed my bag and the boys followed me.
"Bye ma, bye pa" i said my goodbyes and so did the 2 boys and we left to the Curtis house.

" do you guys want to go the lot for a bit?" Johnny asked us
"Sure" pony and I said at the same time

At the lot:
"So you and Steve" pony boy started wiggling his eyebrow and sitting on the old couch
"No, no, Steve and i are just friends, amigos" i looked at the boys, they just laughed.
"You are so funny." Johnny chucked and sat next to Pony
"We are just friends, and he has a girl friend" I said
"He looks at you differently compared to Evie. But I guess you are right" Pony said smiling

We stayed at the lot looking at the stars and the boys fell asleep, but I didn't, i was trying to imagine shapes and figures.

"Guys wake up It's 2 am!" I yelled shaking them
"Oh my god Darry is going to kill me!" Pony shot up and started running to his house.
"Come on Johnny!" I grabbed him and we both ran to the Curtis house

We finally made it to the Curtis house.
"Why did that take so long" pony complained
"I have no idea"Johnny said walking up there stairs
I chucked,
pony sighed, when he saw Darry in his chair.
We opened the door and Darry looked like he was going to explode.
"Where were you Ponyboy it's 2 am almost 3!" Darry was yelling full on ponyboy
"D-Darry I was at the lot, I will never do it again." Pony looked down he looked like he wanted to cry.
"That's all I hear from you!" Darry yelled
"Let's get to bed pony" soda said calmly.
"You don't get into this Sodapop, all you do is get your brothers side!" Darry yelled at soda
"Don't yell at him!" Pony yelled back
At that moment I could tell Darry regrets everything he did.
Darry hit ponyboy real hard. Darry just started at his hand. Pony ran out of the house with Johnny.
"Ponyboy Come back i didn't mean it!" Darry begged pony
"I'll go get him" I gave Darry a small smile, he had tears in his eyes.

I ran to the park where, I saw Johnny and pony on the monkey bars.
"Can we go back to your place pone, or at least come to my house, it's so could and I heard some people riding there car early behind me." I begged pony
"P-ponyboy I'm leaving with baby, I'm not going to beat my socs again." Johnny ran up to me and stood next to me
"Fine I'll go too" pony got off the monkey bars and we walked to my house.

At baby's house:
I opened the door and we walked into my house. We went upstairs to my room, to sleep.
"Baby I'm sorry you had to see that" pony looked down and a tear fell down his cheek and on to my carpet.
"Ponyboy, i love you" I hugged him tight
"I love you too baby" he hugged me back and cried
"Don't cry" I rubbed his back
"Baby, He hit me, Darry never hits me, he hates me." He cried
"I rather have my old man hit me then ol' dar" Johnny said sitting on my bean bag chair
"Ponyboy look at me." He looked up, his eyes were swollen and red and tears kept streaming down his face.
"Darry didn't mean it, he felt so bad. He was crying when you ran away Ponyboy, that means that he loves and cares about you." I said giving him a smile. I wiped his tears away with my thumbs and I said
"Ponyboy, everyone cares about you, maybe it doesn't seem like it, but everyone does. So tomorrow you are going to Darry and you are going to ask for forgiveness." I said getting up and kissing his forehead.
"B-b-bu-." I cut him off
"I'm going to change so turn around."they both turned around and I changed.

"All done." I said flopping on the bed
Pony chucked so did Johnny.
"Oh my god it's going o be the first time you guys see me with out makeup" I said getting up and walking to the bathroom to do my night routine.
"You wear make up!?" Johnny said loudly
"Shhh, and yes" I said taking off my make up, I did my nightly routine and looked down, that way the boys can't see my face.
"Baby let us see your face" pony complained
"No" i buried my face in my pillow
"Please, ill give you food"Johnny started opening a bag of chips
"What chips are they?" I said
"Well they are potato chips your favorite right?" Johnny said munching
"You guys are so evil." I sat down, and covered my face
"Come on baby it ain't going to be that bad." Pony said taking the blanket out of my face
"Just don't look beautiful."I sighed, I took off the blanket, pony and Johnny smiled at me
"You look like a princess" pony said
"Baby you look so beautiful without makeup." Johnny. Said sitting next to me.
"Baby why do you think that?" Pony asked
"A few months back, I went into a really dark place in my mind. Depression hit me, I couldn't eat that way I could be skinny, I still do that. I look at my self and I don't see me, I see ugly, fat, unworthy" tears started streaming down my face
"When my best friend died, I wanted to die, she made me feel worthy to the world. The. I met you guys, and I knew that I should stay because I love you guys and you guys make me feel better all the time" I cried
"I can't believe you think that" pony said hugging
"We love you" Johnny Hugged me.
We broke the hug, and they both said
"You are the worlds most beautiful girl"
I put my head on the pillow and said thank you to them

Johnny went to the bean had and pony went on my carpets, I don't want them to sleep there, I will feel bad.
"Um guys, can you sleep with me in my bed. I will fell bad if you don't." I said sitting
"If it's okay" Johnny said
"Of course it is." I patted the spot that they would sleep in, they alude down next to me and i fell asleep almost immediately........
