Torn apart

I screamed and thrashed against the grip on my arm. I stopped when I heard them say,

"Kay it's me stop!"

I turned and saw Daryl starring at me intently. I smiled slightly embarrassed,

"Sorry"

"Damn woman bout took my ears off and my damn arm" he growled.

"I was just doin what ya told me to do" I said.

"That's a first" he grunted

I was about to say something smart ass back when Beth cut in,

"I'm sorry to interrupt but they're getting closer"

Daryl and I turned and saw she was right. The walkers were coming at us in all directions and were definitely closing in. I turned to Daryl fearfully,

"Cmon" he yelled and started aiming his crossbow.

"What about Maggie!" Beth exclaimed.

"Glenn's got er! C'mon this way!" Daryl yelled to us taking down a walker.

I took out my dad's gun and started shooting as much as I could while holding Beth's hand dragging her along behind us. We ran as fast as we could towards the back of the store. Daryl had pushed us infront of him. We ran and shot down anything in our path as we made our way to the back entrance of the store. We were almost there until I skidded to a stop. The door was surrounded. There was no way we were getting out that way. My heart started pounding

"Daryl!" I yelled.

He grabbed an arrow out of a walker and looked and saw the door.

"Shit" he grunted.

Beth squealed and was still shaking in my hands. Daryl kept looking around as he pushed me and Beth behind him.

"We're not gonna make it!" Beth cried.

My eyes scanned the rooms. There was no way out, we were gonna die here. Suddenly I had an idea so I turned to Beth and took her cheeks in my hands and made her look at me,

"Yes you are. Your strong"

She nodded through her tears and I gave her a weak smile. I turned back to Daryl who was still shooting his crossbow. He was almost out of arrows. The only way any of us had a chance of getting out of here alive was to use live bait. Just like back at the prison.

I gripped onto Daryl's arm as tears fled my eyes but didn't fall. I was breathing heavy and when he turned to me I lightly smiled at him. For the first time in my life I think I saw fear in Daryl dixons eyes. I pulled out my gun again and started shooting alongside him. Unfortunately I only had 3 bullets left and that didn't last long.

"Go! Get out of here!" I yelled to him and Beth.

He looked at me like I was crazy and Beth cried harder. I started towards the herd when I was forcefully yanked back.

"You mad?!" Daryl yelled.

"This is the only way you're gonna get out of here! We need live bait Daryl!" I yelled trying to yank myself out of his grasp.

"No not again! We'll find another way!" He yelled.

"There is no other way!" I yelled.

"I've lost ya before, I ain't losing ya again!" He growled and pulled me behind him back by Beth.

She gripped onto my arm and cried. I placed a reassuring hand on hers as we both waited for what was to come. Something then caught my eye, an opening. It was small but if we ran fast enough we could get to the door.

"Daryl!" I yelled.

He loaded another arrow and looked back at me. I nodded towards the small gap of the undead. He looked in that direction and nodded,

"Go!" He yelled sprinting infront of Beth and I.

We ran full speed towards the gap. Unfortunately the walkers caught into our plan. I was pulling Beth behind me when I was suddenly yanked back, Beth's hand pulled away from mine, and a blood curling scream filled the air. I stopped and looked fearfully seeing a walker had grabbed ahold of Beth and was taking a chuck out of her neck and others were tearing her apart. Tears filled my eyes and I screamed,

"No! Beth!"

I started to run towards my friend when strong arms grabbed me around the waist and started dragging me back. At this point I didn't care if it was a walker or not. I fought against the hold screaming and crying my eyes out.

"She's gone Kay c'mon!" Daryl yelled.

I fought against him,"no! Let me go! Beth! No!"

No mater how hard I fought, Daryl was stronger than me and successfully pulled me out of the door of the store. He closed the door and I just started at the door. Knowing that behind that door one of my friends was getting torn apart and it was all my fault. Daryl didn't say anything, he just grabbed my hand and pulled me onto the back of his bike. I gripped onto his waist as he started up the bike. I looked back over at the store again and tears flooded down my cheeks again. I buried my face in Daryl's back and whispered,

"I'm sorry Beth"

How the hell was I going to tell Maggie?
