I tried opening my eyes but quickly shut it again

I tried opening my eyes but quickly shut it again. The light was too bright. I tried opening it again but couldn't.

Feels like deja Vu.

Wait. Am I still at the island? Nobody saved me?

I'm pretty sure I switched on my phone. Didn't anyone tracked me down?

I shut the voices in my head and tried to hear the sound of waves but there was nothing. Completely silent.

Then I carefully opened my eyes but to my shock, there was no water or sand around. Instead it was completely white.

Am I in heaven? Did I die on the island?

I was working on my thoughts when I heard someone say,"Dear Lord, finally you're awake."

I looked in the voice's direction to find a woman, dressed in what I guess is a nurse's uniform.

I also found some machines and wires around me.

I'm in a hospital. I'm not dead.

"I'm alive?", I questioned her, just to be sure.

She chuckled a little.

"Yes, of course, honey.", she said as she helped me to get up from my lying position. She placed some pillows on my back so that I could sit comfortably.

"I'll let the doctor and your family know.", she said and walked out of the room.

Family. That means Zack must be here. Aaron, he'll be here too.

My lips formed a smile thinking about him. It feels like a century has passed since I've last seen him. I missed him so much. I can't wait to see him.

The door opened and a man, in his early fifties, wearing a white coat and stethoscope around his neck walked in.

"It's good to see you awake.", the doctor said.

"It's good to be awake.", I replied.

"I'm Dr Green. I'll be running a few tests on you, if that's okay.", he said.

I just nodded in response. I wanted to get over with it so that I can see Aaron.

"Do you remember your name?"

"Rachel Watson."

"Age?"

"25"

"Which city do you live in?"

"New York."

"What's your profession?"

"I'm a businesswoman. Owner of Watson Enterprises."

"Can you name some of your friends and family?"

"Of course. There's Zack Miller, Aishley, Noah, and Aaron.", I couldn't help but smile at Aaron's name.

"Wonderful. Your memory seems absolutely fine."

"Thank you, doctor. Can I meet my family now?"

"Yeah sure. I'll send them in."

He walked out of the room. I couldn't wait for Aaron to walk in. I need to see him.

After what felt like hours, the door finally opened and walked in Aish, behind her Zack and then...and then no one.

Where is Aaron?

"Hey girl, how are you?", Aish asked as she pulled me in for hug.

"I'm fine.", I managed a smile to hide my disappointment.

"You scared us, sweetheart.", Zack said, wrapping his hands around my shoulder.

"I'm really okay, Zack. Don't worry."

Aish sat down on the side of my bed and Zack took a seat on the chair beside the bed.

Zack asked me some more questions related to my health before leaving, stating that I must need some time alone with Aish.

Even though I loved Zack to death, I was glad he left me alone.

Now I can finally ask Aish,"Where is Aaron?"

Aish's expression changed a little but she covered it up quickly.

"He was out for some work. He'll meet you after he get back."

I don't know why but I had a feeling that she was lying. But why? Why would Aaron not want to meet me?

She sensed my uneasiness,"Trust me, he'll meet you soon."

I nodded and our talk changed it's direction from Aaron to all the stuff that happened in all these days when I was out.

She told me it was Nathan and Kelley who did this. I was shocked. I mean I obviously knew Kelley hates me but I never knew she'd steep so low. And Nathan, I can't believe I used to love that man once.

"You know, they even found a whole room filled with Aaron's pictures in her house."

"That's insane. I mean she really needs help with this.", I said.

"I know. Anyways, I think you should rest now, honey. You're still weak."

"I'm tired too but I was kinda waiting for Aaron to get back."

"He'll be late. Sleep. You can always see him later."

"But-"

"No ifs and buts. Sleep.", she bossily said and got up from the bed to help me lie down.

I decided to give in to her order and closed my eyes to sleep, thinking that I'll meet Aaron after I wake up.

                        ************

My slumber was broken by some sound of something falling.

It must be Aaron. He must have come to meet me.

I hurriedly opened my eyes and said,"Aaron?"

"Umm, no honey, it's me.", a male voice said.

It was Noah.

"Oh, hey.", I greeted him with a smile, hiding my disappointment for the second time.

"Hey. I'm sorry if I woke you up. My phone just slipped."

"No it's fine. I was about to wake up anyway."

He took a seat on the chair beside me as I remained in my sleeping position.

"How are you, sweetie?"

"I'm good. Well as good as I can be after jumping from a jet.", I joked.

He chuckled a little.

"You got us all scared. Especially Aaron. He didn't leave the hospital for even a minute."

"Oh really. Then where is he now, when I'm finally awake?"

He scratched his head as he tried to come up with an answer,"Umm, well, uh, he's kind of busy with something."

"Busy? Busy with what? Is that thing so important that he can't even spare five minutes to see how I'm doing?", I shouted.

Noah's eyes softened and he took a hold of my hand.

"Honey, don't get mad. You know how much he cares for you. He'll come to see you soon. He can't live without you."

"Yeah well, he sure has a great way of showing that.", I said sarcastically.

I was angry. Very, very angry. Where was he? Didn't he want to see me? Didn't he want to kiss me, or hold me? I mean I've been out for so many days. Didn't he miss me at all?
