Emma heavily sighed as she stepped on the break when we got caught by the red traffic light. She rested her back before turning to me.

Ever since we left the salon, no one dared to speak. I was lost in my thoughts while thinking of London and Walter. Her feelings for Walter were genuine. I could feel her sincerity, yet Walter's wasting everything with his rude attitude towards her. He wouldn't even give her a chance when she clearly deserved it.

"What do you think about the girl, Kriesha?" Emma asked me out of nowhere and finally decided to cut the stretching silence between us.

Nilingon ko si Emma na nakatitig sa akin. Punong-puno ng kuryosidad ang kanyang mga mata. Siguro ay iniisip niya kung ano ang masasabi ko patungkol sa babaeng nagkakagusto kay Walter bilang pinakamalapit na kaibigan nito.

I quickly recalled the look on the woman's eyes. It was filled with hope, but I could also see the pain trampling upon it. Nevertheless, she still looked determined.

Now that I've thought of it, the person who reminded me of her was Charity. Mas ma-swerte nga lang sa sitwasyon si Charity dahil nagagawa siyang bigyan ng oras ni Rojan at napapaunlakan ng atensyon, hindi katulad ni Walter na talagang tinutulak palayo sa kanyang buhay si London.

"She's charming and sincere..." sabi ko kay Emma. "Hindi ko man siya ganoon kakilala, pero nasisiguro kong totoo at seryoso siya sa nararamdaman niya para kay Walter. If I were to choose a girl for my precious friend, I'd definitely pick her. Alam kong mapapasaya niya si Walter."

Nang balikan ko ang kanyang mga mata na nasilayan ko kanina ay muli akong nahabag para sa kanya. Gustong-gusto ko siyang magtagumpay sa laban niya para sa pagmamahal niya sa aking kaibigan.

"Too bad Walter doesn't seem to see her worth," I bitterly spat. "Ang tanga-tanga niya..."

Tumango-tango naman si Emma bilang pagsang-ayon sa aking sinasabi. Humawak siyang muli sa kanyang manibela at ibinalik ang tingin sa daan bago sinimulang patakbuhin ulit ang sasakyan dahil lumiwanag na ang berdeng kulay ng ilaw trapiko mula sa pagiging pula.

"Well, you're right..." Emma agreed with my statement. "I also admire her for being so dedicated to our friend, but at the same time, I couldn't help but to feel sorry for her."

Sumandal ako sa sandalan ng upuan at saka pinaglaruan ang aking cellphone. Nagpatuloy naman si Emma sa paghahayag ng kanyang saloobin at nakinig lamang ako sa kanya.

"Base pa lamang sa mga kwento mo patungkol sa opinyon ni Walter tungkol sa kanya, hindi magiging madali ang lahat," diretsong sabi niya. "Ang malala pa ay baka kahit na malagpasan niya lahat ay hindi pa rin siya magtagumpay sa huli. You know how stubborn Walter is. He's firm with every decision he makes. He might be a little immature when we were still in high school, but he already changed into a more mature individual. Minsan ay magugulat ka na nga lang sa kanyang pinagbago kapag babalikan mo ang dating siya."

Mas lalo lamang dumoble ang habag na nararamdaman ko para kay London dahil sa sinasabi ni Emma. I wanted so bad to help her, but I already promised not to manipulate his life. Hindi ko na siya papakialaman. Kung ano man ang maging desisyon niya sa huli, sana ay mapanindigan niya.

However, there's this slight urge in me that wanted to be the trigger which will open his heart to her. I was thinking that maybe if I push him more, he'd finally come to acknowledge her. Maybe, he just didn't know what kind of heart he kept on breaking that's why he wouldn't even care for it.

"Nafu-frustrate ako, Emma..." Bigo akong huminga nang malalim. "I really want to help London after I heard what she said earlier."

Pinaglaruan ko ang aking mga daliri. I wondered if I should try to talk to London in secret, but it still felt like I was trying to step into his life by doing it. Bahala na talaga!
