"you can't speak?"

donghyuck shakes his head.

"is that why you never... spoke?"

donghyuck nods, still sitting on mark's thighs. his smile is soft and his arms are around the elder's shoulders. he can't meet mark's eyes, but the hands on his waist are comforting.

"and you... didn't tell me? for three months?"

donghyuck can't say anything to that, for obvious reasons, so he simply tightens his hold on mark. he contemplates whether or not reaching for his phone and opening the notes app, but decides to do it once he realizes there's no other way to express his thoughts. he can't just start signing and expect mark to understand.

i thought that you'd think i was a freak. i'm not normal.

"hey. never, alright?" mark says immediately after reading off the phone. "you're not a freak and you're insanely normal."

shrugging at mark's words, because donghyuck didn't know what else to do, he rests his head on the elder's shoulder and closes his eyes.

mark is warm and mark feels comfortable, so donghyuck hopes that the elder can understand that all he wants to do is sit here and hold him close.
