"hyung, are you alright?"

"sungie, where's jaemin hyung?" chenle ask frantically when he exits the bedroom, leaving to door ajar for safety reasons.

"why need jaemin hyung when i'm right here—"

"sung please!" chenle cuts off, making the younger stop talking and understand a bit more clearly how serious this might be.

"he's in the kitchen," he answers quietly, following chenle as he treks to the kitchen.

"jaemin hyung," the chinese boy cries, tugging on the elder's arm and leading him away from the stove. "hyuckie hyung." is all he manages to get out, but jaemin immediately understands.

jisung, only so responsible in certain situations, turns off the stove jaemin was working at before following the two others.

jaemin finds himself in donghyuck's room, however he makes chenle and jisung stay outside so donghyuck doesn't feel too panicked.

"hyuck?" jaemin asks softly when he enters their room, crouching down slowly in front of the boy who has his knees pulled up to his chest and head buried in them. "come on, breathe a bit." he encourages the heaving boy.

head still buried away from sight, donghyuck sticks a hand out and searches for jaemin's, easily finding it and holding on for dear life.

jaemin just rubs, what he hopes is, comforting circles on the other's hand, hushing him and patting his head.

sometimes it's sad to see donghyuck like this. he's the one who gave jaemin a home, and it's hard seeing his hero sometimes break down.

"did you have a nightmare?" jaemin asks.

before jaemin gets an answer, donghyuck pulls away after a few more minutes, wiping the tear tracks down his face quickly and signing something fast.

i want puppy.

"what?"

jaemin please. call puppy.

"i— who's puppy?" jaemin asks, thoroughly confused.

in sign language, there isn't really a gesture for every name, so donghyuck signs objects or things which he associates strongly with the person he's signing about. jaemin is home, jeno is honey, renjun is panda, chenle is dumpling, jisung is chick, johnny and taeil are just dad and mom, kun is bear, jungwoo is rainbow, and ten is, well, ten. but puppy? he's never heard that one.

slightly frustrated, because he realizes a bit late that no one knows who puppy is, he settles on just pointing to one of the posters on his wall.

"mark hyung?"
