Sarah stood up, creeping her way to the staircase. She heard a ruffling noise from upstairs, and she decided to ignore it for her own good.
She crept up the first few steps before she saw Michael laying at the top of the stairs.
"Shit." Sarah mumbled under her breath. She ran up the stairs and knelt beside him.
He was still breathing, and his eyes were closed.
"Mikey?" She spoke, shaking him a bit.
His eyes fluttered open, but he didn't move a muscle.
"Hey.." He started but she cut him off.
"They did this, didn't they?" Sarah said, her lip quivering a bit.
"Yea.. It was all so quick." He said, sitting up against the hallway wall.
"Are you okay?" She looked at his limited bruises.
"I guess, can we just go to sleep? I'm tired." Michael spoke, shifting his weight.
"Sure." Sarah said, standing up and helping Michael up too.
They made there way into the bedroom and covered themselves in blankets, drifting off into a deep sleep.

A knock on the door awoke the two sleeping kids.
Sarah checked the clock.
4:27 A.M.
She crawled out of bed and stumbled to the door, opening it.
"Sarah." Luke spoke, his eyes were puffy and his cheeks were red.
"Luke? Are you alright?" She spoke.
"Can I come in?" Luke replied, ignoring her last question.
"Okay.." Sarah said, and Luke moved past her, plopping onto the couch.
She went into the kitchen and made some hot chocolate, one for Luke and for herself.
Sarah walked back into the living room, handing Luke a mug of the warm liquid.
"What happened?" Sarah said, sipping her hot cocoa.
"Isabella. She had an affair." He sniffled.
"Who's she?" She said.
"My girlfrien- ex girlfriend.." Luke replied.
"Oh, I never knew about her." Sarah set her mug on the table, reclining the chair she was sitting in.
"We tried keeping it on a down low. Until I found out she was having sex with.. with.." Luke spoke, but broke out into a ball of tears.
Sarah stood up, moving to his side and slowly rubbed his back.
"Luke, with who?" Sarah said.
He looked up at her, into her hazel eyes.
"Calum." Luke sobbed.
