The smell of bacon wandered up the stairs waking me up, as I wandered down into the kitchen I found Jamie serving up a full english breakfast on to two plates. There's sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms and beans with freshly buttered toast.

"Since when did I have all this food in my house?" I asked.

"You didn't, but you do live just around the corner from Tesco express," he replied.

I giggled sitting down on the chair he pulled out for me, putting the plates down on the dining table.

"This is looks great, thank you," I smiled.

"You're welcome. Did you sleep well?"

"Very well," I nodded cutting a sausage.

He sat down opposite me with a slightly larger plate full of food. Throughly enjoying our breakfast we continued to discuss today's plans, he's insuring me that he will finish work by late afternoon but considering the hours he has missed already I doubt it will even be close to four o'clock.

"Chloe's coming to the hospital after lunch so i'll be fine," I said.

"Alright then."

"Is everything okay at work?" I asked.

"Yeah, why?"

"I don't know, you're having to attend a lot of meetings lately and your phone is red hot."

"There's a lot to sort out and arrange that's why, it's nothing to worry about," he replied.

"Don't put plans on hold because of me."

"It's not like that."

After clearing our plates and loading the dishwasher with the pots and pans Jamie has just used we rushed upstairs to get ready. I had a well awaited shower after Jamie and didn't worry about my appearance much more, I plaited my hair and wore my jeans with another T-shirt. There's a growing pile of Jamie's clothes in the corner of my room so he put an outfit together and was ready to go.

"Tiffany, it's half past eight," he called up to me as I rummaged through my bag checking I had everything.

"Sorry, I'm just coming," he replied.

The hospital is just a short drive away so luckily we arrived with plenty of time for Jamie to get to work.

"I'd love to come in but I can't this morning babe," he said parking by the main enterance.

"I understand, I'll see you later. Have a good day," I smiled kissing him goodbye.

The doctor's seemed pleased to see me as I wandered into special care, there's finally an update on Charleigh. I sat down with one of the nurses as the doctor began to explain, but of course all these technical terms are confusing for me!

"I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean, is this good news?" I frowned.

"It's improvement. Charleigh is doing a lot better than we thought she would being so premature and is very slowly getting stronger."

"She's getting stronger?"

"Only slightly but it's a start," he replied.

"Okay."

"It's still a long process Tiffany and she's still prone to infections but like I said, It's a start."

"I understand, I won't get my hopes up for her coming home just yet."

"No, but think positive."

"Thanks for letting me know," I smiled.

I stood up and walked over to Charleigh as the doctor left, she looks exactly the same as when I left her last night.

"Would you like to touch her?" a nurse asked.

"Can I do that?"

"Yes, now she's settled."

I hesitated at first but eventually I slowly reached in and picked up her tiny hand with my index finger, she automatically gripped it.

"Hi beautiful," I whispered.

A tear rolled down my cheek. Every day I look at her and wonder how I created someone so perfect, she's my daughter and I couldn't be more proud. I sat talking to her for over an hour, she probably can't hear or understand a word I'm saying but it's something I like to do when I'm on my own.

Another Mother came inside to visit their daughter so I took this chance to get myself a cup of hot chocolate from the canteen. There's so many people out here waiting to see their loved ones, I suppose somehow I have to count myself lucky because there's a lot of patients in here worse off.

"Hey you," I heard from behind as I stirred my drink.

"Jamie," I smiled automatically wrapping my arms around his neck. "I thought you were working until late this afternoon?"

"I've got a little arrangement with my boss," he replied.

"Oh."

"I have to leave you again tonight, but I'll be back for when you wake up."

"Are you in the studio?"

"Yeah."

"Okay," I smiled. "I'm glad you're here."

"Is everything okay?" he asked.

"I've held her hand!"

"What? Tiffany that's great!"

"There's a slight improvement and she's settled now so we can touch her, Chloe might be able to see her later too," I grinned.

"That's brilliant, I knew she would be a fighter like her Mum."

"Come and see her."

I took him back into special care so he could share my excitement, watching as he stroked her hand.

"She's gorgeous babe," Jamie smiled. "I look at her and see you every time."

"I just see an angel," I said resting my head on his shoulder.
