Do You Know Indigo?

Chapter Eight

Researching indigo eyed, super fast, striking creatures wasn't as hard as one might think. Those who seek shall find and find I did.

In the darkness of night I stole onto Ross's laptop and indulged my curiosity.

Some of the websites said vampires, other said werewolves. A couple of sites claimed they were zombies but even I wasn't that gullible. What was more, the instinct for consuming blood that each of these theories suggested didn't explain Sophia's fear for it.

There was only one website I could find that completely matched Kieran and Sophia's physical appearance but it left me with doubts.

It wasn't possible.

It is said, that there are beings that posses a singular power given unto them by God and Satan. They were formed from heavenly dust that transpired between the Heavens and Hell in the beginning. God and Satan divided the dust between themselves and fashioned it into two opposing beings.

After the beginning, war broke out among humans at the mercy of these beings, so God and Satan damned them into service.

The sin of suicide amongst the people of the Earth was becoming intolerable. God and Satan could not justify the likes of those who defied the laws of life. So the beings we call Red and Indigo were sentenced to a damnation of judging those who extinguish the gift of life by their own hand.

Competition soon arose and in time this led to the discovery of The Passing.

The passing is where Indigo or Red relinquishes body and soul and the dust is passed onto a chosen successor. How this takes place is uncertain to all but God, Satan and Indigo and Red themselves.

Indigo and Red must do all in their power to save the suicidal. Indigo (the Indigo of God) is attracted to those who would most likely pass on to the Kingdom of Heaven. Whereas Red (Red of Satan) feel a pull towards those who are certain to be sent to the pits of Hell. When it comes to their companions, Indigo and Red select who they feel will be fruitful to them in their serivce.

The rolls of theses followers are to do the work of Indigo and Red but their powers (strength, speed and varying super natural powers) aren't equal to their masters. The followers of Indigo and Red may be let go if their masters see no more reason for them. They are simply put to sleep. In extreme circumstances it is not unknown for disciples of Indigo or Red to be returned to life.

The Indigos are recognisable by their eyes and fragrant smell (an essence of a smell that appealed to them in their previous life). They can also don invisibility and invade a mortal's unconsciousness.

As for Reds, they are so named by their eyes also. They have the power to morph their features and manipulate emotions which can be known to freeze the consciousness of a mortal's soul.

The current location of Indigo (as of 15th of January 1995) was London, England and Normandy, France.

Red's location is unknown.

The true names of Indigo and Red are lost in translation - they were made distinguishable by the colour of their eyes before the beginnings of the BC calender.

I slammed down the computer screen and searched the coffee ringed table.

The article explained so much. Kieran's abnormal presence and unnatural physique left me with no other choice but to believe it. When he rescued me from Devon's clutches, it could only have been super speed. He had also invaded my consciousness in such clarity I could not deny the possibility he had controlled it.
