Susannah checked her reflection in the mirror before leaving her bedroom. She chose a white spaghetti strapped eyelet dress and put a blue light cardigan over it. She wanted to her most pure and innocent for this Ella and Gabriel. They looked rich and elite, and she wouldn't mind being Ella's personal assistant...well, at least she hoped that's what the job was. She really hoped that it wasn't Gabriel who needed a PA. It wasn't that she was afraid of him, nothing really scared her, but it was just that he was so...intense. Lagi na lang nakatitig at hindi lang simpleng titig kundi nakakunot noo pa.
Pero kung para kay Gabriel nga sya mapupunta, eh di go! Mas mahirap paikutin ang ulo nun, pero handa na sya sa kung anong challenge man yun. Hay, ano ka ba, Suze! Hindi ka pa nga natatanggap sa trabaho, ang layo na ng nilakbay ng isip mo. Kalma lang.
She took a cab to the address na nakasulat sa business card na binigay sa kanya ni Ella. Nasa Makati ang lugar kaya naisip nya na magtaxi na lang kahit mas mura sana mag jeep na lang o kaya mag bus. Ang location nung address ay isang restaurant. Hindi pa sya nakakain sa restaurant na yun, pero sikat na sikat nga ito sa mga artista at mga iba pang mayayaman. Nagbayad na sya sa driver at inayos ang kanyang damit bago nagsimulang maglakad pagpasok sa restaurant. "Sorry po, Ma'am, sarado pa po kami," mabait na greeting sa kanya ng isang babaeng naka white shirt and black slacks.
"Actually, may interview ako with Miss Ella Alvarez and Mister Gabriel Alvarez. Ako si Innah Guzman."
"Ah, may namention nga po si Miss Ella na may darating for an appointment. Sige po, follow me na lang po."
Sinundan ni Susannah ang waitress who greeted her sa restaurant. Umakyat sila sa second floor kung nasaan ang opisina ni Mr. Gabriel Alvarez. Kumatok muna ang waitress at hinintay ang go signal ng mga taong nasa loob ng opisina.
"Sir Gabe?" sabi ng waitress ng walang sumagot sa kanyang katok.
"Yes?"
"Nandito na po si Miss Innah Guzman."
"Sige, sandali lang."
They heard rustling inside the office at maya maay ay narinig na nila ulit ang boses ng lalaki. Binuksan ng waitress ang pinto at pinapasok na si Susannah. Nagulat si Susannah sa laki ng opisina ni Gabriel Alvarez. It looked like an Old World type of library, rich dark woods and chocolate brown leather could be seen throughout the decor of the office. Gabriel was seated on a big leather chair behind a huge oak desk while Ella stood next to him. Susannah walked in slowly with her hands clasped in front of her and stopped short of the desk. She noticed Gabriel's lips looked pinker than the last time she saw him, and he seemed to notice what she was looking at because he subconsciously covered his lips with his hand and discretely wiped them.
Ella walked from behind the desk and reached out her right hand for a handshake. "Innah, welcome! Please, have a seat," she pointed to one of the plush chairs in front of Gabriel's desk.
"Thank you," Susannah walked to the chair and sat down.
"So, did you find the place okay?" Ella asked brightly and sat down on the chair in front of her.
"Yes, madali naman syang mahanap. Kayo pala ang owner ng sikat na resto na to," Susannah told both of the people in the room with her.
"Hindi ako...sya lang," Ella giggled and nodded towards Gabriel. "Si Gabe ay ang pinakasuccessful na restaurateur in the Metro. Actually, marami syang restos; from fine dining to cafes to coffee shops, meron sya."
"Wow, ang galing naman," Susannah smiled. Jackpot!
"So, Innah, did you bring your ID and NBI clearance?" singit ni Gabriel sa dalawang babae.
