Silent Infatuation

Shyly admiring from the short afar
though he genuinely is not that of a true star,
my heart cannot help but falter in his wake
to which arises the wings of a warm, tentative heartache

and a mere glance from him banishes my breath
that will undoubtedly, one day be the spawn of my death
Yet it's his smile that convinces my soul to melt
Although, at the cease of the day it silently does welt

For despite my daydreams, he is far from mine
though enchanting his heart would be much divine
Whilst I expect he is not conscious of my infatuation
to those around, his smug subtle glances are not to be mistaken.
