Nikolas' wolf is enraged, as his jaw snapped at Tom and Gloria. Gloria immediately released her hold on me as she stepped away from me, and backed up into the wall of the basement.

She had her back firmly aligned with the wall as her arms fell against her sides. Her eyes were wide as saucers.

Tom let the blade drop from his hands, as his eyes held no fear. Quite the contrary actually; they held a challenge. Nikolas' wolf tail swished back and forth, as his wolf's eyes narrowed down at Tom hatefully.

He snapped his jaw at Tom, "go ahead, strike me." Tom menacingly teased, as Nikolas growled and snapped his razor sharp jaws towards Tom. Tom held something behind his back, that I couldn't see. Something that I didn't want to know what it was.

The room started to spin as a sharp pain hit my lower abdomen...my eyes lost all focus as I hissed past my clenched teeth, as I moved my hand over the open wound.

Nikolas' snarling stopped as he whined lowly at the back of his throat in my discomfort as he faced me at the corner of my eye.

My eyes widened when Tom took out a long blade and struck the side of Nikolas' face causing him to whine and whimper as he backed away from Tom.

My hand reached out to them, as I parted my dry lips into a silent scream.

Gloria ran forward and took something out of her back pocket and pointed it daringly at Tom's face. She was in a crying mess, as she shakily held out a gun towards Tom who tried to tell her to put the gun down.

"G-Gloria, put the gun down love. I love you sweetheart. I don't want to hurt you." He whispered sweetly to her.

Gloria whimpered as her tears leaked past her lids, and as mascara stained her cheeks. Nikolas, who now changed back into his human form, crouched down near me as he with shaky hands tried to comfort me as much as he could.

My eyes peered up at him, and my heart lurched as his tears dripped down past his chin and to my nose.

I gulped and gasped at the scar that stretched from his forehead to his his chin on the left side of his face.

"Nikolas...your face..." I whispered out hoarsely while he shushed me, and placed an index finger to my lips. "Don't speak. I wish I came sooner." I let out a choked up sob, as he placed my head into his nude lap. My heart lurched when I laid my eyes onto the mark on his arm.

That mark will never let anyone forget.

I whimpered as his fingers twirled in between my own as he brought our hands up to kiss my knuckles. "Serge and Callias are on their way." He mumbled. "Hang in there." He choked out as he held our hands. I had so many questions to ask him, so many things that I wanted to tell him.

I missed Nikolas.

"Gloria, please...put the gun down." Her fingers trembled as she continued to point the gun straight at him, with her body hunched and curved over slightly.

"Please take my him out of here." She whispered to Nikolas.

Tears leaked past my lids.

"You may not be related to me by blood Logan. But you were always my son at heart... please don't forget that." She whispered to me, as another choked up sob swept past my dry lips.

"Please." I whimpered out to her, she shook her head roughly at me as her tears fell.

And as even more dribbled past her chin.

"I will always love you." She muttered. "I'll take things from here, please... take my son and go somewhere safe." She said to Nikolas while keeping her eyes focused towards Tom who stood rigid in place and glared at me.

"Yes mam." Nikolas grunted out...his voice hoarse.

He gently lifted me up into his arms, as I tried not to wince or cry out in pain. "Don't look down." Nikolas warned, and I should have listened to him, but I didn't... blood smeared past my open skin, dripping down to the ground, staining the carpet in red.

My eyes widened in horror, as I tried to stifle in a gasp. "Just you wait Logan. I'll be back for you!" Tom cried out as Nikolas carried me out of the hidden basement underneath the staircase. "Royce, Serge, and Mark are on their way." I looked up at him in question.

He smirked. "I bailed them out with Royce of course. I immediately went to him, as soon as I saw you driving away. We formulated a plan, so that's how I got here. I followed your scent."

I blushed slightly as tears dried up.

The reporters and the policemen were still out at the front yard, and I told Nikolas to sneak out through the hidden back door of the house. "How did you even get in?" I whispered shyly. "I snuck in." He shrugged as he made his way out to the backyard.

A backyard that I was never going to set foot in again.

"I never really left either." He smiled down at me sadly, as my eyes widened. "What do you mean?" I managed out. "I'd rather really not say." He whispered as his eyes refused to meet mine as he gazed downwards. "Let's just get out of here."

I nodded urgently.

A familiar BMW pulled up to the side of the curb in the backyard. Serge's face immediately popped out of the car seat as he rushed towards us. Horror masked his face as his eyes searched the blood. His body stood rigid.

I couldn't hold in a sob anymore when Mark slid out of the car and rushed to my side, he glanced up towards Serge who paled.

"I can't lose him Mark." Serge gasped out as he clutched his shirt. "We'll have to take him to the pack house."

"These look like knife wounds... its cut in so deep." He closed his eyes tightly as he refused to meet my eyes and paused. "I'm so sorry Logan."

"Sorry for what?" Nikolas muttered out. Serge snapped out of his dazed state as his eyes glared hatefully towards Nikolas.

"You lost the baby."

My world came crashing and tumbling down as I let out hiccups and dry heaves. "We need to go. Now!" Serge barked out angrily. "Since when was he pregnant!?" Nikolas exclaimed as he didn't bother hiding his shock. "We don't have time to explain things right now...we need to get him to safety."

Serge cried out. I flinched at his sharp tone as the blood rushed through my ears. I coughed as I tasted something sharp and metallic like dribble past my lips. My own blood.

A gunshot fired through the air, as a scream split through the air like a sharp knife.

Royce, who was at the front seat, jumped out of the car and ran towards the house. "Get your asses in that car, and leave. I'll take Logan's parents so that the court of six will it from there. These humans can't know shit."

He hissed as he threw the car keys so that Serge could catch them.

I winced when he mentioned my parents. Tom and Gloria, were no parents of mine.

"He's slipping in and out of conscious. We need to get him to the pack house. Now!" Serge barked out. It was all happening too fast, and too soon.

I didn't even notice when we pulled up to the curb as I cried out and screamed when they kept shifting my body in someone's arms.

My eyes were blinded by the piercing sun's rays that made my eyes grow heavy, I didn't even know who was holding me by then.

All I could hear were...the sounds my own screams.
