It was Christmas morning in the heart of London. Snow covered the busy streets below your loft while you rested warmly in your bed with your boyfriend, Ethan. You leaned over him, kissing his nose to wake him up.

"Hey," He said with his voice drenched in sleep and his eyes barely opening.

"Merry Christmas." You smile.

"Merry Christmas." You could swear his sleepy voice was literal music.

"Come on, presents." You kissed his lips before getting out of bed, silk pajamas covering your body matching the ones Ethan was wearing.

"Coffee?" Ethan offers as he walks into the kitchen while you go to the perfectly color-coded tree the two of you decorated the very first day of December.

"Please." You send him a toothy smile as he starts the espresso machine. Once the coffees are done, he walks over to you and hands you your warm mug. "Thank you." You take a small sip of your coffee, careful not to burn yourself.

"Here, you go first." Ethan hands you a smaller box wrapped in silver wrapping paper.

You carefully open the wrapping paper and find a black box. You open the lid that's attached by hinges to reveal a gold Rolex. You had been needing a new watch for months and had been putting off buying one. You had been eyeing this Rolex for the past few weeks but you knew you had to save money for Ethan's present.

"Thanks, babe." You smiled wide bringing him in for a kiss. "Your turn." You shut the box and gently set it beside you as you pulled out a longer box wrapped in blue wrapping paper.

Ethan opens your present, barely even ripping the paper. He opens the white box lid to reveal four new ties with matching pocket handkerchiefs, his new obsession lately. Under the ties laid two plane tickets to Athens. Ethan had been working so much lately, all he needed was a break and the one place he wanted to go that he hadn't been yet was Greece.

"Really?" Ethan holds up the tickets with a soft smile.

"It's time we got away."

"You're the best, you know that?"

"I know." You beam as he leans in giving a thankful kiss.

The two of you finish your morning by having a nice breakfast of homemade sticky buns. This Christmas was your third and it seemed to he going seamlessly even when the power went out for an hour from the snow. You were with Ethan and he was with you, that's what mattered. But the more the day went on, the more Ethan seemed to look forlorn, finding himself looking at two particular pictures hanging on the wall he'd decorated.

"Are you okay?" You ask, grabbing his attention as you sit beside him on the couch.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He pulls the soft, blanket over the two of you.

"I know when something is wrong." You stare, taking the remote and pausing the TV.

Ethan sighs and shakes his head. "It doesn't get easier, holidays, birthdays." Ethan admits as his eyes grow distant.

"Aiden?" You ask, your heart falling heavy as you know about Ethan having to watch his twin die in front of him.

"Yeah." Ethan let's out a breath as his eyes grow glossy.

"Christmas doesn't have to be about family, ya know?" You furrow your brows, emphasizing with him. "Its okay to be sad but it's also okay to be happy on holidays. He'd want you to be happy."

"I know." Ethan nods. "It's just hard."

"I know it. But," You say as you wrap your arm around his shoulders and let him rest his head on your shoulder. "I love you and I'm sure if there's an afterlife, Aiden is having a giant party."

Ethan snickers with the thought before picking up his head and pressing a sweet kiss to your lips. "I love you." He smiles before laying his head back down, the room falling silent besides the TV as you unpause it.
