You were having a rather good school day

You were having a rather good school day. The teachers weren't riding your ass, you passed your biology test, and you got almost all of your homework done in class. But, your day was going all too well. Liam came by your locker but you were still mad at him for nearly running you over during lacrosse practice the day before so you opened your locker faster and harder which resulted in your door hitting Liam's nose. His nose immediately started bleeding and Liam was yelling about how bad it hurt which got a teacher's attention. That only landed the two of right in detention.

"I'm going to make copies. Stay in your seats and no talking." Your teacher says as they gather their papers and exit the room.

"I hate you." You say as you turn to Liam who was sitting across the room.

"You act like this is my fault." Liam's head pops up from his book as he turns to face you.

"Because it is." You say holding attitude.

"You hit me with your locker door." Liam gives you the same attitude.

"And you had to wine and cry like a baby. And you deserved it! You're the one who nearly killed me on the field the other day." You mumble.

"I'm sorry? Next time I'll try and control the gushing blood from my nose or maybe you could not hit me with your locker door. And it was an accident. I didn't see you."

"Yeah, okay." You roll your eyes in response. "I did have plans today though."

"Yeah? With your jackass of a boyfriend?" Liam throws as much sarcasm as possible into his words. Ever since you started dating your boyfriend, Liam has been an even bigger pain in your ass than ever before.

"He's not a jackass." You say in defense.

"That's a joke." Liam mumbles as he looks back to his textbook he had been pretending to read.

"What's that supposed to mean?" You question as your blood starts to boil.

"You're really that dense?" Liam looks up but this time with less annoyance. You furrow your eyebrows and wait for him to continue. "He treats you like garbage. You're always on his time, never yours. He ditches you all the time. He's never been to one of our lacrosse games. He doesn't care." Liam takes a breath before rolling his eyes and looking back to his book. "But you just keep defending him."

"You act like you're so much better." You don't bother denying it because Liam is right but you weren't about to tell him that.

"How would you even know? It's not like you'd give me the chance."

"You're not exactly nice to me either."

"That's because all the guys you go for are assholes." Silence comes over the room as you realize what he just said.

"Wait. What?" You quirk a brow, checking to see if he's really saying what you think he is. Liam keeps his eyes on his book, not daring to look at you. "You like me?" You ask with light giggle causing Liam to squirm in his seat a little.

"So what if I did?" He glances at you from the corner of his eyes as his cheeks start to glow a vibrant red.

"That's brilliant." You smile and turn away. You always had a little crush on Liam but didn't think he felt the same. "I-"

"No talking." The teacher says as they return to the room which unfortunately ends your conversation.
