Bradley: you're such a slut Sabby: wtf? Bradley: you're back with him right after we broke up Sabby: we were broken up for a while before Daniel and I got together Bradley: whatever, I cheated on you when we were together Sabby: stop texting me. Don't call me. Get the hell out of my life
I choke back a sob but a rogue tear falls down my cheek.
"What is it?" Daniel asks.
"Bradley cheated on me when we were together," I choke out before sobbing.
"Come here," he says, holding his arms wide open.
I gladly take the hug and start crying into his shoulder.
"Why does it hurt so much?" I wail.
"Because it was cheating," he replies wistfully.
"But I shouldn't care this much, I dumped him," I say.
"That doesn't change the fact that it hurts," he whispers.
I finally realize how much I hurt Daniel. I lift my head and extricate myself from his grasp.
"I'm sorry," I say, wringing my hands. "I didn't realize it hurt that much."
"It's fine," he says, shaking his head.
"No it isn't. I didn't realize how much it hurts, and for me it probably doesn't even hurt as much as it did for you," I reply.
"Don't blame yourself. You have to busy yourself with something," he replies and I merely nod my head, feeling like crawling under my covers and staying there for eternity.
