A/N There is a text conversation between Mona and somebody. It will say the person who is texting's name on the left. That’ll be all.  :)

I was in that place between sleep and being awake. It was peaceful and I was getting closer to deep sleep. I was almost there. Until I got yanked back to reality by a ringing phone. I drowsily sat up in my bed. I was glad to see I was in my bed, in my room, in my house.

The house phone rang and rang and rang. I glanced at the clock on my bright white wall to see it was around 10:30 PM. Who could be calling at this time?

I slipped on my slippers and stood up. I realized my T.V. was still on. I searched my bed for the remote, picked it up, and turned off the television. The phone had stopped ringing. I sat back down on my bed and heard the phone ring once again.

I sighed and shuffled over to my parent’s bedroom, where the nearest home phone was located. I found it odd that my parents weren’t home. I grabbed the dull gray phone and pressed the “Call” button without checking the Caller ID.

“Hello?” I sleepily mumbled into the phone.

“It’s one thing to not answer my calls, texts, even emails, and it’s a whole different thing when you pick up and then hang up on me without saying anything!” Kiki shrieked into the phone.

“I’m sorry.” I tried weakly.

“Sorry won’t pay my phone bill! Why wouldn’t you answer? Why did you leave? Where were you?”

“I wanted to be alone.”

“Why?” She pressed.

“I-I need to tell you something.”

“Go ahead.” Her voice was patient but annoyed.

I went on to explain to my nightmare. I told her every single detail that I could remember, She didn’t say one word while I was talking. Which was odd because Kiki ALWAYS interrupts you when you’re talking. When I was done a silence hung between us.

“Is that what you were going to tell me at McDonalds?” She asked quietly.

“Yeah.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah.”

“I’m sorry.” She muttered.

“For what?”

“For inviting Jeremy.” I could hear she was crying. She was always so dramatic.

“Kiki don’t cry. You didn’t know. It’s my fault. I acted like he was my best friend yesterday and then today I acted like I hated him. I shouldn’t have done that. You didn’t know.”

“I’m such a bad friend” She choked out. “I should’ve known something was wrong!”

“Kiwi stop. You are not a bad friend. How could you have possibly known? It was just a nightmare anyway.”

She sniffled. “I’m still sorry for inviting him. Tomorrow we should go shopping! Just us.” All the sadness left her voice.

“I don’t know, maybe. I’m tired. It’s been a long day. I’ll talk to you later though okay?”

“Okay. Bye Mona. I love you!” She made a kissy noise and hung up.

I put the phone back on its dock and left my parent’s room. I realized I didn’t have my cell phone with me and went hunting for it. I looked in my room, then the bathroom and then decided to look in my car. It was dark outside and I wanted to be cautious. I grabbed my keys and ran outside to my car. Once I was safely inside I locked the doors and looked for my phone.
