I found pictures of myself today
From when I was little
Maybe four
And
I said to my mom
'I wish I still looked like that'
She replied
'The only difference is happiness. When you're happy, you look the same. You radiate the same energy'
I jokingly said
'And my hair, it's longer now'
But those words stuck
And I realized
When I'm truly happy
When I'm carefree
I do look the same
My smile is the same
And my eyes sparkle
And my nose crinkles slightly
It's been a while though
I wish I were still young
