I hate it when people you know say something along the lines of "You're becoming your mother/ father/ parent." when you say or do anything. You could have the best parents in the world but no one wants to hear that, it entirely delegitimizes anything you're doing. It makes it seem as you are not your own person. You're not becoming your parents, you're your own person, who shares similar characteristics as them because you've been taught how to live by these people.
