CHAPTER 34

"But darling, you are the only exception. You, are, the only exception. You, are, the only exception. You, are, the only exception."

Pumasok  na naman ako na parang nililipad yung utak ko. Bakit ko nga ba nasabi yun?

 "Please... don't leave me Shane." 

Weh. 

Ano nga ba? Ang gulo ng isip ko sa ngayon. Isa pa tong si Basti, sa totoo lang ang gwapo talaga nya. Minsan nga, napapaisip ako kasi mas gwapo sya kay Shane. True. Kaso pag nakikita ko si Shane, nag-iiba ang pakiramdam ko. Parang mas may dating sakin si Shane. Tru again.

At hindi ko rin alam kung sino na ang ang mas matimbang.     

At hindi ko alam kung ano na ngayon ang status namin oh kung meron man ba? 

Dapat ba talaga akong mag-alala at this point?

Naglakad na muna ako para mahimasmasa. Pumunta ako sa lobby at nakakita ng piano, hindi ko alam pero natuwa ako nung nakita ko yun. 

I know we have a piano on the house pero sawa na ko dun eh. Meron nga kong tugtog na laging naiisip everytime na nakakakita ako ng piano. Hindi ko nga alam bakit.

Umupo ako dun at tumingin, its already 9pm that's why wala ng tao. Medyo ok lang naman na mapag-isa paminsan minsan.

Hinawakan ko muna yung mga keys then tried to play. I can't remember the title of this but I know to myself that I'm really familiar on this.

"When I was younger I saw my daddy cry. And curse at the wind."

Napahinto ako sa pagplay at tumingin dun sa kumanta. He was at may back. Very serious. 

"She broke her own heart, and I watched. As she tried to reassemble it."

Tinuloy nya yung kanta kaya tinuloy ko yung pagpeplay. I really know this song! Its just that, I can't remember why.

"And my momma swore that she would never let herself forget. And that was the day that I promised I'd never sing of love, if it does not exist."

And we both sang the chorus. The feeling is so familiar. Very familiar. Its like.. . it happened before.

He sat beside me, and gave him a genuine smile. I couldn't resist myself looking at him.

He's so damn handsome. I stopped singing and let him sing alone.

"Maybe I know, somewhere deep in my soul that love never lasts. And we've got to find other ways.To make it alone.Keep a straight face."

"And I've always lived like this. Keeping a comfortable, distance. And up until now, I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness. .Because none of it was ever worth the risk."

Sumabay na ko sa kanya sa pagkanta and I could see on his eyes na masaya sya.

"Well, You, are, the only exception. You, are, the only exception. You, are, the only exception. You, are, the only exception."

I stopped playing and theres some memories keeping on my mind. Magulo. Iba-iba ang nakikita ko.

And suddenly, my head hurts. Really hurts so bad that I immediately held it.

"Lizbeth? Bakit? Sumasakit na naman ba ulo mo?" I nodded harshly.

"Hello? Alex, pakidala nung gamot ni Lizbeth now. Yes. Sa may lobby. Thank you."

When I looked up at him, he smiled at me. Kumabog yung dibdib ko pagkakita ko nun. At medyo nabawasan yung sakit ng ulo ko. Feeling ko sanay na sanay na kong makita yung ngiti na yun.

Kilala ko ba talaga sya dati pa? 

Dumating si Alex na worried yung face kaya ininom ko kagad yung gamot ko. At nawala na yung sakit nya.

Sinamahan kami ni Shane sa taas ng kwarto ko. At natulog ako ng mahimbing na may ngiti sa mga labi. Why? I really don't know. Basta ang masarap dun yung nararamdaman ko.c

Nagising ako sa mga katok ng pinto kaya tumayo ako. Pagkita ko, si Basti. Ngumiti sya sakin.

"Oh bakit?"

"Bumati ka man lang diba? Good morning." Bigla nya kong hinalikan sa cheeks. At feeling ko namula ako.

"Yayain sana kitang kumain."

"Excuse me." Napatingin kami dun sa nagsalita at nagulat ako sa dala-dala ni Shane.

"Good morning Lizbeth. I brought you some breakfast. Baka kasi masakit pa rin yung ulo mo."

Napangiti ako bigla at parang kinilig ako dun. Gahhhhddd!! Dinalhan nya pa ko ng breakfast.

Kaso.. .

Niyayaya ako ni Basti,panu to? 

Sinong sasabayan ko?
