Flower strings | Corie

Lightning seared beautiful patterns into her skin
That was where her tale seemed to begin
They don't realise beauty comes from within
That she existed before when her hair was brown
That she decorates it still with a daisy crown
Though silvery blue is certainly striking
It's not worth the pain of striking lightning
Searing heat and flowers scar
She's told she cannot say they mar
Her pale skin
Too beautiful they say
Disregarding the pain
"It's to your gain!"
"You're no longer plain!"
"Stop being so vain!"
A cacophony of strings drag her down
A tangling net that forms a gown
With a beautiful pattern the same as her skin
Striking
Like lightning
But the praises they sing
The compliments they fling
Are as shallow as flower strings
She sees her daisies turn to grey
She sees the patterns on her skin as clear as day
She scrubs them but they won't go away
"It's the new you!" they say
In a silvery mirror she sees a silvery head
And the old her fled
Or is she dead?
"Who cares?" they said
A network of strings becomes her vice
Her hair burns colder than silver ice
They claim it looks so very nice
And that lightning doesn't strike the same spot twice

Hi guys!

Many of you probably recognise who this is about, and if you don't, she's a brilliant character called Corie Keegan from Stranger Things, which is a book on here that you should definitely check out.

I received permission from kmbell92 to post this (for which I'm grateful) and I think there might be a few more poems about various characters of hers coming, if that's what you guys want.

As always, drop me a poem, and I appreciate all the support, even if it's just via PMs.
