What is poetry?

When you write you can make anything from nothing simply by replacing the first two letters with another three

You can make worlds from words as easily as striking a vertical line down the page

And you can make paint from pain with the addition of one letter and splatter colour over the bleak worlds you wrote

You can write everything and anything, and make people think with nothing but ink.

With a single pen you can build galaxies and split atoms, and what other tool is that powerful and versatile?

You can write an anchor and embed it in strong words, and hope that the metaphor holds up against a tirade of emotion.

That's why we do it.
