This poem is dedicated to a most supportive and inspiring viewer : Karmen--
Thank you for your reasons and lovely words, they alone made this poem take flight.

I was at Woodstock, crooning to some tune on stage
Strumming along to the bass of a G-line
Then I saw your fella, raising his fist in the air
Didn't know then he would be the one you call "mine"
But the warnings came early in their morning glory
No one was safe, young ones couldn't believe this fire
He was blindsided, the crowd was ignited, nowhere to feel alright
So I made a melody, a human lullaby
To soothe the young souls of their plight

But now the flags are rising, not to surrender
In us they've found their new age contender
And so he kept raising the fists of every beating heart
And I sang my song to play my part
Maybe this music, however the notes fly
Can be the siren that keeps this fight alive

But to stand here in this rain, just to have one answer
Grooving in White plains, just to ask him the reason
Praying a third,  a fourth and a sixth time for the answer
Give us the truth, give us this season

I'll pray it all away, away for the answer
Just open these roads to the highway of heaven
I'll drive over these miles just to reach there
If you give me just one season, I'll pray it all away, away every day just for the reason

I was at Woodstock dreaming up a man that couldn't be defined
Then I some him on stage in a jazzy suit with a laymans guitar
Then he saw my face, we then both knew what to do
Making anthems over the grunge & daisy chains
And no chaos could touch us but then we never doubted
So when the rains came, we stood there burning while it was still clouded
My heavy heart couldn't carry their little faces, flowers adorned everywhere
In hair as dark as mine
And all their dreams floating in and out of their eyes
I sang for their future, prayed for their parents
Knowing we were born of the same time

But now the flags are rising, not to surrender
In us they've found their new age contender
And so he kept raising the fists of every beating heart
And I sang my song to play my part
Maybe this music, however the notes fly
Can be the voices alone that will make this song take flight

But to stand here in this rain, just to have one answer
Grooving in White plains, just to ask him the reason
Praying a third,  a fourth and a sixth time for the answer
Give us the truth, give us this season

I'll pray it all away, away for the answer
Just open these roads to the highway of heaven
I'll drive over these miles just to reach there
If you give me just one season, I'll pray it all away, away every day just for the reason

I was at Woodstock, singing and vibing
And I saw so many clouds but they had their silver lining
All the ones with hair as long as mine
Tied their hands together and the sea came alive
Because all their little fingers caught the silver
And it fell upon the earth
So now I sing this prayer as it takes birth
Mmmm I'll pray it all away,
Baby just for one day
Just for one reason
I'll pray for the seasons.
