Faith is like a path of stepping stones. You are constantly trying to make sure you don't fall into the water. And if you do, not only are you wet, but you feel discouraged. Many times you just want to forget the stones and just swim across, but God's love isn't like that. He wants us to take the harder path in order to become stronger.
At times we just want to give up and forget about the harder path and focus on the easier one. Just because one side is greener than the other does not mean it is better. The easier path makes us lazy and we don't have the privilege to enjoy the scenery. But the darker path, it holds a promise of a waterfall that flows elegantly over the smooth surface of rock. In other words, it shows you that with a little effort, you can experience something beautiful.
