A fork in the road had forced Erza and Lucy to part with us. Now, it was just Laxus and me walking down the dimly lit passage.

"Mind explaining all this?" He asked, breaking the silence. I had hoped no one would question it but I'm afraid it was inevitable. With a sigh, I slowed my pace and tried to avoid his gaze.

"It's nothing-"

"This certainly isn't nothing," he interrupted with a stern voice. I gulped, nodding. I wish I could escape the interrogation and not involve Fairy Tail in this matter. But it was too late for that.

"I feel like my master is connected to this guild. I have to find her. I have so many unanswered questions. It might sound silly to you, but to me it means a lot," I explained as briefly as I could.

"It isn't stupid, kid," Laxus spoke sternly. "It's a reason good enough for us to fight. You're a part of Fairy Tail and trust me when I tell you this, they don't ever let you suffer alone. Regardless of whether you tell them your problem or not."

"Freed told me about what you did. You saved him when he was beyond saving. I have to say I'm jealous. I want to be able to do something like that too," I sighed.

"You've already done that," he smirked at me knowingly making me wonder what he was on about.

"When?"

"You should figure it out yourself."

"Laxus!" I huffed in annoyance and pouted like a child. Immature, I know, but that's me. He chuckled, ruffling my hair.

"When you beat Freed in the... Battle of Fairy Tail," He looked down, clearly feeling guilty about what he had done.

"I didn't beat him."

"You beat him enough for him to come to his senses. I wish it had worked on me too. I'm sorry for that," He apologized, shoving his hands into his pockets.

"What was it that you said about Fairy Tail being with you no matter what? We miss you, Laxus. The Thunder God Tribe needs you."

"They don't. They shouldn't."

"But you saved them all, didn't you? Freed said that you saved him from himself."

"I'm just like my father," He spat, clenching his fists.

"You most certainly aren't!" I argued, punching his arm. "Come back to Fairy Tail. I'm sure Gramps will understand."

"I deserved what I got. And I think it's for the best that I stay away for a while." I didn't question him since he didn't seem to want to talk about it. I looked down at my feet, as we continued to walk in silence.

I could hear the sound of someone panting come from a few feet ahead. Laxus and I shared a look, nodding before distancing from each other. His palm sparked up with small bolts of lightning and mine with swirls of shadows.

The footsteps grew closer to us, and soon we were facing a silhouette; which was surely a man's. He stepped forward slowly, sensing our presence- I assumed. He walked closer, and I revealed myself, raising my hand to ready myself for an attack. But I was forced to stop when I spotted his face in the dim light.

"Freed!" I gasped. He didn't seem to be seriously injured and only had a bad case of bed hair (without even having to sleep).

"Y/n!" He exclaimed, eyes widening upon seeing me. "And...Laxus," He gasped. I didn't think his eyes could get any wider but they did.

"Hey there," Laxus gave him a smile so tiny, I needed a magnifying glass to see it. "Laxus, what are you doing here?" He asked, appearing very shocked indeed.
