chapter 38: the grand magic games

"Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the grand magic games my name is Chapati Lola and I'm your announcer next to me is ex-magic council member Mr.Yajima well let's meat the teams" the announcer said so I turned to my team "what place you think Natsu's team got I mean surely he made it in" i asked them "pfft knowing salamander they made it in" Gajeel said making me and Mira giggle "and now in 8th place the once number one guild in Fiore hoping to reclaim there titel it's Fairytail!!" the announcer called making us all go eyes wide "They got last?!?" we yelled in shock "those idiots" Laxus muttered

It was some time until finally we were called upon "and second place oh this is a surprise are they the tattered wings to glory?  It's Fairytail team-B" Chapati yelled making the crowd fall silent when Laxus used his lightning to teleport us all on the field Team-A looked at us in full shock seeing "No way" Gray said "Laxus, Mira Gajeel Juvia Mystogan and Leanne!?!" Lucy cried I turned to her with an apologetic face "sorry Lucy master told us not too tell you guys about this let's say we're just a assurance" i replied she still looked shocked so I patted her back "there there" i said as she was sulking
"Now ladies and gentlemen in first place we have the number 1 guild in Fiore Give it up for Sabertooth' Chapati called making everyone look at the final entrance when the crowd cheered showing the Sabertooth members my eyes landed on the twin dragon slayers they sensed my gaze and shuddered a bit making me smirk

"now it's time to start the first event called Hidden teams please send your participants forward" Chapati said and we saw Gray step forward for the other team and before we could say anything Juvia was down there I facepalmed "i swear if she does something stupid I'm gonna throw her in one or my black holes" i said trough gritted teeth making Jellal look at me weird Mira giggled and Laxus and Gajeel shiver of the memory from me putting them there "So dark" i heard Gajeel mutter

They stood down in the arena looking at each other most likely studying each other "Hey guys I got a question what do you think that pumpkin thing is?" i asked my teammates looking at the mascot down in the arena "i have no clue" Gajeel said frowning at the pumpkin man I zoned until I heard the announcer "now everyone it's time to start...hidden" he said "good luck Gray, Juvia" i thought looking down

The two Fairytail teams were on the bottom our team at least got 1 point I kind of felt sad when I saw Gray and Juvia lost then the first battle came it was Lucy vs Flare of Raventail

What that Flare girl did to Lucy got me royally pissed should I fight one of those Raventail members I would hurt them Natsu took Lucy to the infirmary when the second battle came it was Jellal dressed as Mystogan against Jura Nekis the wizard saint

The stadium was filled with an awkward silence after the battle between Jellal and Jura "well ladies and gentlemen that is it for today day one of the grand magic games is over join us tomorrow again and have a good night" Chapati said we walked down the street towards the honeybone Inn where we had agreed to go Master was drinking cheering that today was the first step to the top no matter the defeat I sighed I told everyone a goodnight I sat with Arya and used some runes in our room to prevent people from listening "And did he tell you you would fight?" Arya asked looking at me and I nodded "yes it will be me and Natsu and it will be the fourth day just after the rest day so when that comes I want you to pack our stuff understood?" i asked she nodded but looked down "I'm gonna miss it here though" Arya said and I patted her head "So will I Arya,so will I"
