Chapter 4:




I was lying in my bed still thinking about Today's events when Luca decided to walk in without knocking. "Ever heard of knocking!" I yelled at him before sitting up. He laughed at me then joined me on my bed. "Come with me" he simply said. I was so tired but the way he said 'come with me' made it sound as if I couldn't say no. He wouldn't let me. I stood up and put my nikes on. When I stood up and looked at Luca I noticed he was already watching me. I felt weird under his gaze but shrugged It off and walked to the door. He followed me out and I shut the door after him. "Where are we going?" I asked him after I realized I didn't know where we were going. "The main garden" he replied and looked at me waiting for my reaction. "Why? What's so good about the main garden?" I asked again, my curiosity peeking. "Well for one, it is where we met and the moment you fell in love with me" he said with a smirk on his face and I couldn't help but chuckle. "You wish! No but serious?" I answered back and he smiled before answering me. "We're gonna watch the sunset" he said and walked down the main stairs. I followed him without saying a word.




He walked ahead of me the rest of the way to the end of the main garden where there was a big fig tree. It had branches that stuck out everywhere. I watched as Luca grabbed onto a low branch and swung onto It like he's been doing it his whole life. He then climbed up one more branch and looked down at me. " can you do that?" He asked me and I nodded. I swiftly copied his actions and took a seat next to him. I looked out and saw that we had an amazing view of the horizon. "Wow this is gorgeous! How'd you find such a perfect spot?" I wondered looking over at Luca. "In my old house I had a big tree that grew right outside my bedroom window, a branch was poking out towards my window and made it really easy for me to grab onto. Every night after work I would come home and climb the tree and watch the sunset. It put me at ease you know. Made me feel like I had no worries." He explained to me and I just nodded. "That was the first thing I did when i got here. I came and climbed every tree so I can find a perfect spot and I did." He finished off and I smiled. That was really cute.




"So when's the sun gonna set?" I asked. "Bout half an hour." He replied. "What do we do for half an hour then" "I don't know, uhh" he pondered. "20 questions?" I suggested and he nodded. After a moment we both spoke at the same time. "You first!" "fine" he gave in. "What's your mums name?" Luca asked. "Adeline, what's yours?" I replied. "Clarissa" he said his voice a whisper. I suddenly felt guilty. I was about to apologize when he asked me a question. "Why do you always have your hair in a messy bun?" The question caught me off guard and I didn't know how to reply. "Uh I like it that way?" I said puzzled by the sudden change of topic. "I like it too" he said and smiled. I blushed but hid my face. "What's your favorite band?" I wondered out loud. "I like hedley, I didn't think you'd know them honestly" he replied running a hand through his hair. It suddenly looked so much cuter that way and I just wanted to stare at him. Instead, I spoke. "You serious? Nah 'one life' is my jam!" I shouted a little too loudly and Luca laughed. "I like a girl who isn't afraid to admit she likes music not many people know about" he stated randomly and nodded his head in approval. I laughed. "When did you move in here?" He asked me and I thought for a second. "After year 12" I answered simply and left no time for Luca to dwell on the topic. "Did you have a lot of friends back in NSW? That is where you moved from right?" He looked at me and I couldn't read the expression on his face but ignored it. I looked back at the horizon. "Yeah NSW. I had some friends. I knew Anthony for a while before he moved back here. When Cynthia called me and told me I would be moving to Melbourne I was upset obviously but then I remembered Anthony and that lifted my spirits a little" he explained and I nodded. "Fair enough" "shh" Luca hushed me. "Watch" he ordered. I turned my gaze away from him. The sun was setting. The colour was beautiful and I smiled. "Wow we have good seats" I commented and Luca chuckled.




Once the sun was completely out of sight, I noticed the only light we had was from the moon. "Uh Luca how are we supposed to get down?" I asked him a little concerned we might have to sleep in a tree until the sun came up. "Same way we got up" he replied and jumped down making sure not to fall. "Your turn" he motioned for me to jump and I gulped. "It was easier when the sun was up" I said not making any attempt at getting down. "Come on. I'm leaving." Luca said before starting to walk away. "LUCA MARONE COME BACK HERE!" I yelled at his retreating figure. I thought he would've kept walking but thank god he turned around. "Just jump I'll catch you" he said repositioning himself under the tree. I ignored his stupid order and held onto the lower branch. I was almost down but I lost balance somehow and slipped. I screamed so loud I'm sure everyone in the house heard it. I waited for the impact of my body on the ground but it never came. I opened my eyes and found myself seated comfortably in Luca's arms. "Told you" he said grinning and put me down. I was blushing madly and I didn't know why. "Thanks" I mumbled and started walking away towards the house. I heard him start walking but I just sped up. I was being so obvious. I was affected by his touch. And I'm not so sure I'm okay with that.




"Why were you screaming Carmela? Are you okay? What did you do to her? Do I need to punch you?" Nathaniel confronted Luca as soon as we stepped inside. I grinned at the little guy and I couldn't help but hug him. "Stop it Carmela!! I'm 15 not 5" he reminded me and I sighed. "I keep forgetting" I apologized and moved away. "So do I need to punch you?" He turned his attention back to Luca and I smirked at Luca's face. He actually looked taken aback. Nathaniel was really intimidating actually. "Uh no, she's fine I didn't do anything" he assured the little guy and Nate nodded. "Okay" he replied before giving me a hug quickly and running upstairs. He was the cutest thing ever. Luca followed him upstairs and I walked into the kitchen. "Hey Cynthia!" I greeted the woman and she smiled at me. "Carmela honey ever since Luca has arrived I barely even see you!" She complained and I put my head down. I felt so bad. When I looked back up I noticed her smile and realized she wasn't really upset at me. "How bout coffee tomorrow? My shout" I suggested and she nodded. "Great but you know I can't let you do that! We'll go for lunch it's much better. I have a few things I need to tell you" she planned and I nodded. I sometimes forget she was like my mum. "Goodnight" I said before heading to my room. I stopped at Luca's room and pressed my ear against the cold door trying to hear anything really. I heard him talking and figured he was on the phone.




"IM COMING IM COMING!" I yelled as I ran downstairs my hands working fast to tie up my hair. I ran to the door and opened it to reveal the impatient visitor. "Hey, is Luca here?" The blonde asked me and I nodded. She didn't even wait for me to Say anything else before barging in And running upstairs. I followed the girl. She opened the first door which was Nate's and she closed it walking to my room. She opened it and peered in. She closed the door again before opening the door to Luca's room. She ran in and a moment later I heard her scream and giggle. What the? I heard Luca's laugh and I started to wonder.. Could this be his girlfriend? He hadn't mentioned being in a relationship. I walked to his door and poked my heard through. Luca was holding the blonde up and spinning her around. He set her down and she hugged him, still giggling. Yep. Definitely girlfriend. Luca's eyes met mine and I cleared my throat. "Sorry, just wanted to make sure everything was okay" I said nervously and the blonde eyed me up and down. "Is she your maid?" She asked turning to Luca. "Uh yeah, everything's fine Cam don't worry" he reassured me and I nodded slightly. It was kind of awkward until Luca cleared his throat. "Cam this is Lily" he said and Lily waved. "Anthony's fiancé."
