Chapter 4~ Rejection.

"Where are you?!" Quinn shouts through the phone.

"W-What do you mean? I'm at home." I yawn. Why was she calling so early? I'm so tired.

"Well, your ass needs to be at school!" She yells and my eyes widen in realization.

Idiot. Adira snickers and I shut her up, blocking her out.

"Fuck!" The clock said about nine-thirty. "I'll be there in twenty!" I hang up and quickly run to my bathroom. I brush my teeth and get started on my hair and makeup. I do all of that within fifteen minutes and pick an outfit quickly. I pair my outfit with black vans.

I grab my bag and phone as I walk out of my room. I grab my keys off of the hook by the front door and leave. I'm at school at about ten fifteen. So, it's brunch.

"What the hell were you doing last night?" Quinn winks as she and Tyler walk towards me.

"Not your brother, don't worry." I wink back and she gapes. Tyler hunches over in laughter.

"What the fuck!" She shouts and I laugh.

"That was a good one!" Tyler high fives me and when he sees the glare he's receiving, he stops laughing. "Uh- I-I mean, wow!" I giggle.

"So, where's your brother?" I ask and when I turn around, I see him. But not walking toward me, with him pressed against the wall and against another girl.

Oh how I wish it didn't bother me. But it did.

Let me at em. My wolf growls and I nod.

There's no point. You can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped. I respond and she stays silent.

"Mel, I'm so sorry. He's stupid." Quinn wraps her arm around my shoulder and Tyler gives me an apologetic smile.

"It's not your fault. And he is stupid. Fucking hypocrite." I scoff.

"You know what? He can't do that to you! Our parents raised us better than this!" She let's go of me and walks up to Nicholas.

"Wow, h-hey Quinn." He unlatches his lips from the other girl.

"You're so fucking stupid! How do you think your mate feels?! Have you not learned anything!" She pushes his shoulders.

"Look, she has Carlos." He smirks.

"But she's not with Carlos is she? Does she press herself against him in front of you? No! Because she doesn't like him!"

"She always talks about him!"

"Because you're a jealous prick! You know she doesn't like him anyway! You knew she was lying! She shouldn't be your mate! She's too good for you!"

"That's enough! Let's just go, Quinn." I grab her arm and she looks at Nicholas with disgust before turning around.

"Melissa I-"

"Don't. I've never done anything with him and you know that." I turn around with Quinn. Tyler was waiting for us where we were.

He better be looking at our ass walking away from him. You can look but you can't touch. Adira teases making me giggle.

"I'm so sorry about him, Mel." Quinn apologizes.

"Stop apologizing." I look at her sternly and she nods.

"If you wanna talk Mel, I'm here." Tyler says and the bell rings. I nod gratefully.

"See you guys later." I wave at them and they say a quick bye before walking off.

An arm snakes around my waist and the other covers my mouth so I can't scream. I thrash in their arms as they drag me into a classroom.

"What the fuck!" They say as I bite their hand hard. Their hands are removed.

"What the hell!" I shout as I recognize who it is.

"You're a biter." He smirks at me.

I'm also a biter. Adira growls.

"Yes, so don't get close to me." I growl at Nicholas. "I don't have time for this, I have class." I try to push past him but he doesn't move. He stays blocking the door. "Dude, I will literally bite your dick off. Move."

"You're not going anywhere until we talk." He says with amusement in his eyes. That just made me more mad.

"Well, tough luck. I'm not going to talk to you. Now get the fuck out of my way." I push at his chest and he chuckles.

"Now, why are you always talking about Carlos and making me jealous. But, when I do it to you, it's a big deal."

"Because I never touched Carlos! You're over here basically fucking that girl. Your hands were all over her. But you know what, I'm not going to care anymore."

"What?"

Okay, woah woah. My wolf says.

"I, Melissa Alvarez, re-" And with that, I'm pinned against the wall with Nicholas's body pressed against mine.

Girl, I like this and all but I'm mad. Adira snickers.

"You will not reject me. We will work this out." He says harshly through gritted teeth. "Xander, stand down." He says sternly. I guess that's his wolf.

"I don't want to. I don't want you! You want someone else and I do too!" He wraps my legs around his waist.

"Look at me," I look up to his eyes slowly and his eyes look sad. "I want you."

"It doesn't look like it." I scoff. "Put me down. Now." He sighs and puts me down.

"We will talk soon." I hear him say before I'm out the door.

"We'll see about that." I mutter.

I already missed three periods. Might as well just go home and hang out with Quinn later. I walk towards my car and drive back home.

"Bitch!" I hear Quinn shout from downstairs. No one else was home, thank god. My mom is working and my brothers are probably with their mates.

"In my room!" I yell back sleepily.

"Hey, why'd you leave?" She pats my ass. We have a weird but amazing friendship like that.

"I had missed three periods already and I'm tired."

"Tired of what?"

"Your brothers bullshit. And my bullshit." I sigh.

Especially her brothers. Adira growls and I nod.

"What do you mean?" She had a confused look on her face. I pat the seat next to me and sit up as she sits.

"I'm being kind of a hypocrite. I'm dropping Carlos. I mean, we're still friends but the poor guy doesn't know I've been using him. I'm not going to mention him around Nicholas. Not that he would care though." I sigh and she hugs me.

"Let's take a nap." She suggests and I nod. We drift off to sleep and wake up at about seven-thirty.

"Quinny," I whisper in her ear and she shivers. "Let's go get food."

"I'm down!" She shoots up from the bed and hurried to find her shoes.

"In-N-Out?" I ask and she nods. I grab my wallet and keys.

"Let's have a sleepover tonight?" She asks and I smile, nodding.

"I like that idea." We get our food and stop at a liquor to get more snacks. I grab a big bag of Cheetos, some chocolate, and an Arizona. Quinn grabs the same but she got sour candies.

"I'm so ready." She rubs her hands together.

"Let's dig in." I say as we take a seat in the couch, putting our food on the coffee table.

After we ate we decided to shift and go into the forest which is where we loved to watch the moon. It was where we'd go whenever we were sad and we didn't even have to talk. We sat in comfortable silence and just ran around feeling so free. I needed that tonight.
