Y/N was reading in the study, Like usual, when the sudden sound of gunshots scared her out of her book and out kf her seat. She rushed to the window to see if there was any trouble, But only saw her husband, Lafayette. He was practicing his shooting, And Y/N smiled at the sudden memory of how they met.
~Several Years Earlier~
BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. Gunshots rang out in the town Y/N lived in. She screamed quietly in fright, and when she heard people come into her home, she was terrified. She crawled under her desk, shaking and crying silently.
Y/N heard footsteps grow ever near, she heard one man say "Yo! I think I heard someone in here!" while he was right outside her door. She whimpered quietly at the thought of her demise and moved closer to the wall.
Lafayette nodded at his friend, John Laurens, who had told him there might be someone there. He opened the door and walked in. "Ello? Il y a quelqu'un? We are revolution fighters, Your house is on fire, You need to get out of here!" He yelled, just as the cieling caved in around Y/N's hiding spot.
Y/N screamed in fright when the cieling caved in. "Je suis ici! Je suis ici!" She called, Hearing how one spoke french. "There's a lady! She says she's over there!" The french-speaking man said to the other. They both got to digging her out.
When Y/N got out she thanked them both, put some books in a bag, And rushed out. The men trailing behind her. They caught up to her and passed her, Leading. She followed them, Until one told the other "Laf, I gotta go! Get her somewhere safe!" And departed. the man called Laf took her hand and ran faster.
Y/N ran with him as fast as she could, Not stopping to pick anything up other than a few children along the way. When they stopped Laf turned to her, and they both blushed darkly. "I'll come back." He tells her, "I know we've just met, But I feel like I need to come back to you. So I will." He said, before he shot some readcoats, who were loading their weapons. "My name is Y/N!" she told him, as he started to run back out to the battle. "Mine's Lafayette!" He replied, running.
Y/N stayed with the children, comforting them as best she could. A few days later, She saw a form coming closer. She stood up, Ready to run incase it was a readcoat. She moved closer when she realized it was Lafayette, the man who had brought her to safety. She smiled and walked, then jogged, then ran.
Lafayette saw a woman's form coming to him, and at first, he thought It was an angel coming to take him away. But then she came closer faster, and faster. He realized it was Y/N, the lady he had brought to safety. When she got to him he scooped her up in a hug, then put her down, blushing lightly. "Y/N... I-" He was cut off by Y/N excitedly kissing him. He was too shocked to react any further.
Y/N parted with a blush on her cheeks and a smile. Lafayette hugged her closer and chuckled. "I guess this means I can court you, mon bel ange?"
Y/N was snapped out of her thoughts by Lafayette snapping in her ear and moving some hair out of her face. "You have that look on your face, Mon bel ange. What were you thinking about?" "How we met." She smiles and kisses his cheek.
