Lindsay says he has a surprise for me and even though I'm excited, I'm a little nervous. He's been gone all day and running around after Aria is exhausting. Karen comes downstairs to have lunch with us .
"Did he tell you what he's doing?" I ask her when we sit down.
"Nope" she says, smiling.
"I know he told you something"
"It's a surprise. All I know is you're going to love it"
I cross my arms over my chest, unhappy I haven't received any information. I huff irritably and she looks my direction. "Oh stop that. It's a really nice thing. Maybe you're just tired"
"Yeah. I'm actually very tired."
"After you're finished eating, take a nap. I can watch Aria for you or I can take her out so you can have some peace be quiet"
"You don't have to do that"
"But I want to. You're getting to the home stretch and I'm sure you're feeling it."
"I don't remember Aria being this difficult"
"Every pregnancy is different" she says and I nod.
"Thank you for everything" I say, getting up from the table. "I will take you up on your offer"
"Sleep well, Stevie"
"I will" I go upstairs and as soon as I lay down, I'm out. I guess I was more tired than I thought.

A few hours later, I wake up to pressure at the other end of the bed. My eyelashes flutter and my eyes open. I smile sleepily and Lindsey strokes my face.
"Hey there, sleeping beauty"
"Hey, handsome" I say, trying to sit up. "I missed you"
"I missed you too" He leans down and kisses my forehead. "I made us a reservation at a really unique spot. It's a kind of lodge, bar and grill sort of place. Steak, seafood...I thought you'd like it"
"Sounds really good"
"I'll have to take you back after we have the baby. I've heard their wine, beer and drink selection is out of this world"
I reach out to stroke his face. "Give me a little bit to get dressed, okay?"
"Sure thing"

I chose a black dress with long chiffon bell sleeves and black boots with only a small heel. I'm not about to attempt platforms but I need at least a little height. I apply my makeup and curl my hair, gaining much praise from Lindsey.
"Wow! You put me to shame!"
"No way! You look so good" I tell him, stroking his chest through his button down shirt.
"Are you ready?"
"I think so" He takes my hand and leads me down stairs.
"Mommy! You're beautiful!" Aria squeals, hugging me tightly. She looks up at me and her smile is so bright.
"Thank you, sweet girl!" I leave down and kiss her.
"Hey, what about me?" Lindsey says. "I'm feeling left out"
"Daddy, boys aren't beautiful!"
"Boys are handsome, aren't they Aria? Daddy looks very handsome"
"Yeah! Handsome" he picks her up and twirls her around, making her giggle.
"I love you!"
"Love you too, daddy" She kisses his cheek and I realize my little girl has painted fingernails. I smile, looking at Karen.
"She asked. I hope it's okay" Karen says.
"It's fine. They're adorable" I tell her. "She looks like a grown up" I start to cry and Lindsey is shocked.
"Are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm sorry. I'm sorry" I wipe my tears and Karen hands me a tissue.
"Hormones are fun, huh?" Lindsey says.
"Shut up!" I smack him lightly on the arm and he laughs. I collect myself and follow him out to the car.

When we arrive he isn't joking. It's truly a mountain lodge, ski lodge kind of feel and it's really nice. It's warm and cozy, I love it so much. We are seated and our drink order is taken. He sits across from me, and we are holding hands across the table.
"This place is stunning" I tell him, looking around.
"You're even more stunning"
"Sweet talker" I say. "Are you trying to get lucky?"
He laughs "No, but um...is it helping?"
"Maybe" I tell him, smiling. "So what's all of this about?"
"I want to celebrate. Like I said, we never celebrated an anniversary, we never celebrated this baby and she's due in the next couple of months. I have a present for you. Well, a couple"
"What? No...you don't have to do that."
"Well, I already have."
"Okay then" I say. I'm kind of caught off guard.
He gets on one knee with a small velvet box in his hand and I'm so embarrassed. People are looking our direction. "Get up, you crazy man"
"Stephanie, you are my everything"
"Stop it!"
"You are my heart, my soul...."
"Lindsey"
"Hold on, let me finish"
"Fine"
"You're the mother of my children and I love you more than anything. Will you make me the happiest man in the world and re-marry me?" He waits there and I try to focus on him and not the eyes on us. I'm crying and I just nod. "Is that a yes?" He asks. I nod again.
He gets up and hugs me, rubbing my back soothingly. "We're still married, you idiot" I say, laughing through my tears.
"I know but I want to do it right. We can renew our vows, have family there. We can wait and we can make it perfect."
"Thank you." I whisper, kissing him. He switches my rings to the other hand and puts on a new beautiful ring.
"You've just made me so happy"
"How could I say no when we're already married? You've already got me."
"I just think after all we've been through..."
"I get it. Wow...I cannot believe you asked me again."
"I've been thinking about it. I know it's stupid"
"It's not, I would love to renew our vows"
"You deserve a real proposal, a real wedding. I know you said you were fine with it all but I knew you weren't. Family is important to you and now everyone can be here"
"Thank you. I love you"
"I love you too"
"I'm sorry for ruining your proposal"
"You didn't. It was cute. The look on your face, your tears...it was priceless"
"I know Karen is going to tease me about it"
"And so will I, for the rest of our lives"
"Great!" I say sarcastically. "I think I might rethink my answer now"
"You better not!" He says, kissing me.

The food comes and when I say it's delicious...oh my god! Conversation was light and if it weren't for our second little miss bumping around in there, it would feel like when we were first dating. It was fun and romantic. I'm so thankful he did all this for me. I'm definitely so spoiled! We leave and he goes in the opposite direction of home. I watch for a couple of minutes out the window, taking in things I haven't seen before.
"I packed a bag for you" he says, knowing I was about to speak, intuitively. "This is my second present"
"Where are we going?"
"I got us a night and a full day at a little place a friend suggested. There's a huge lake...it's beautiful"

I end up falling asleep in the car and I wake up when the car stops moving. Lindsey opens my door and helps me out. "I hope you like it, angel" he says. He has 2 duffle bags slung over his shoulder as we walk hand in hand up to this adorable little house. It's a cozy little A frame house. The lake is a mirror for the moon. There is so much light around and fire flies. It's a magical fairytale kind of place. We go inside and it's just as cute inside. "I feel like without Fleetwood Mac, this could have been ours. It's small, but we could have filled it with so much love" He looks sad, thinking of all the time we have wasted over the years.
"We would have blown the roof off. This little house couldn't possibly contain the love we have for each other." I kiss him tenderly, looking into his eyes. "Let alone the love we have for our children.
"You're right, you're always right" He kisses me again and I can't wait any longer.
"You've spoiled me today, let me spoil you" His interest is piqued. "Take me to bed, Mr Buckingham"
"With pleasure, Mrs Buckingham"
