Letter

Kanda pov:

I had searched the entire forest now, there was still sign of Allen. A mixture of guilt and a feeling of worthlessness washed over me. Dawn would break in a few hours. I decided I would have better chances searching tomorrow. Heading back to the Inn was miserable and I glanced for signs of the bean sprout on the way I had come.

Silence greeted me back in my room. I didn't even have the motivation to take off my clothes so after untying my boots, I laid on top of the sheets. Exhaustion swept over me, yet I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes I saw his face. My mind replayed our fight and each time I saw more and more sorrow in Allen's eyes. Readjusting my pillow I attempted sleep once more. No, how could I sleep when Allen could be in pain right now, what if he was already dead. Staring at the ceiling I let my tears flow freely. I tried my best to keep my mind from wandering but I couldn't help but imagine how afraid he is right now. Had the Earl taken him? If so, for what purpose. After a few hours I fell into a restless sleep pondering the fate of my bean sprout.

The next morning I woke from a nightmare. The details of the dream had fled my mind but my pillow was wet with tears. I never imagined how much losing the Moyashi could affect me. I pulled my boots on and walked out of the Inn into the street. I should call the order and report what had happened. Why am I such an idiot, Komui might already have a lead. The phone rang a few times before a somber Komui picked up the line. I started in with my story but was quickly interrupted.
"Komui something's happened it's abou-"

"It's about Allen Walker isn't it" Komui stated

"Well yes but how did you kno-"

"I know because the order received a letter this morning from the earl."

Silence rang from the phone. My breath caught as I prepared a response.

"What did the letter say Komui."

The line went silent once more. My heart was beating out of my chest as I awaited an answer.

"The letter..... the letter said that if we denounced Allen as an exorcist the holy war would end."

My heart fell with Komui's words
