Depth Of Eyes

He was like a lost puppy staring in my eyes
He was foolish for searching for shallows found in eyes like hers
I had warned him time and time again of coming back to rich waters and expect for there not to be a price for him to pay- he did not get to leave and try to tread in the place he left off.
Because although her and I both had eyes of chocolate.
Mine had depth
And I'd grown tired of reminding him to look away or drown;
I was not a kiddie pool for his feet.
He was to cannonball and submerge himself from head to toes
Or he was not to dip a fingertip into me at all.
