Chapter 20: Christmas Surprise.

About a month later.

Christmas... Aphmau and Aaron have been dating for over a year now. And Aphmau has something very important to tell him....

Aphmau's POV.

Small flakes of snow floated down to murge with the white blanket on the ground.

Staring out the window with a wool blanket draped over me like a tent, I took a sip of my hot cocoa.

A pair of hands tore me from my icy trance. Wrapping their fingers around my own.

"Heh, are you cold?"

I looked up from the window ledge to see my boyfriend, hovering over me like a guardian angel.

"Not anymore..."

He swooped down and kissed me, cuddling up beside my blanketed body.

"I'm glad, wouldn't want my angel getting a cold."

He caressed my hand, pulling me closer to him.

"Mmmm....."

"Heh..." He slid a warm hand up my arm to cup my cheek.

He pressed his lips on mine and leaned me against the wall.

I pulled away, pushing his chest from mine.

"What's wrong?"

"Aaron I...." I trailed off.
Did I really want to tell him?

"Aphmau.... You know you can tell me anything..."

He wrapped his arm around my shoulder, bringing me to his side. He smiled a sweet smile.

"Did you, ever want another kid....?"

He gave me a look that I couldn't describe, but it scared me.

"Where did this come from?" He asked, his smile not fading.

"It's just...."I looked away, thinking about how I would tell him.

"Aph." I looked back at his face. It had changed into a concerned one.

"What are you trying to say?"

"I- I'm pregnant..."

He paused, released me and went on the other side of the room.

"When did you find out?" He asked not facing me.

"When you told me to go to the doctors on Halloween."

"Why didn't you tell me then?"

"I- I'm sorry.... I didn't know how you'd react..."

Suddenly I was wrapped in a huge bear hug. Followed by a loud joyful laugh.

"Wha...?!"

"Aphmau!, I love you, I love Lilith. And I'll love this kid just the same."

I felt joy filled tears run down my face my face in relief.

"Why are you crying?, Hey..."

"I'm sorry, I just thought you'd leave me..."

"What?!, No, no, Aph.... I would never...."

He hugged me from behind. Wiping away my tears with his finger.

I sniffed. What was I thinking?of course he wouldn't leave.

Aaron's POV

I'm going to be the father.

I'M GOING TO BE THE FATHER!

Lilith was going to have a little brother or sister!
She is gonna be a great role model.

I kissed Aph without thinking, expressing my happiness through every means I could.

"Aph... This is the best Christmas present you could ever give me."
