Chapter Eleven: Too Many Happenings For One Lupin

Lottie's Point of View

"Well I think this is a brilliant idea!" Hermione said as she handed out galleons to everyone at the breakfast table next morning,

"Real gold?!"

"No, Roland." Hermione rolled her eyes, "They're fake."

"Well, what good is that?!" Ron asked, tossing it aside,

"These coins are charmed." Hermione began to explain, "I've used the Protean charm on them, and they will change to let everyone know the next time and date of the DA meeting."

"What's wrong with just talking to people?" Fred asked,

"It's a little suspicious though isn't it? How we all keep nipping over to the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables?" I said. Fred nodded slowly,

"Well how does it work?" Harry asked,

"You see the numerals around the edge of the coins?" Hermione took one out and point them out, "On a real galleon that's just a serial number; on these fake coins, the numbers change to reflect the time and date of the next meeting."

"Well that's just about the best idea I've ever heard."

"It actually is." Alex agreed with me,

"The coins get hot when the date changes, so if you're carrying them in your pockets, you'll be able to feel them. I've given Harry the original one so when he decides the date of the next meeting, all he has to do is change the numbers on his coin."

"So I don't need this?" He asked, holding up the coin he'd taken. Hermione shook her head and gave him another from her opposite pocket,

"Here, try it." Hermione told him. Harry struggled, but with a small amount of my assistence he managed to change the date to 12 November 1995. He smiled proudly at his work,

"Like that?"

"Perfect. Now I've got to go hand the rest out." Hermione stood up and walked away from the group,

"Look after mine." Alex said, slamming her coin on my plate then getting up and leaving the hall. I took it, wiped it with a piece of tissue then put it in my skirt pocket with mine,

"Yeah, and mine." Fred said, pushing his towards me and following Alex. I frowned at his back, but put it in my pocket anyway,

"Probably wanna take mine too." George said handing me his coin. I huffed and rolled my eyes, took it and then followed him from the hall to Dark Arts.

Umbridge stared at me intensely as I fidgeted in my seat. It was a week and a half later, 'What's your problem?' Alex mouthed to me,

"Think Harry's changed the date." I whispered, "My arse is burning."

"There's no need to talk." Umbridge told us sternly, then she giggled. I looked at Alex as a tiny snort came out,

"Ah shit!" I whispered, standing up a little,

"You've got four in there haven't you?" Alex asked and I nodded. The bell then echoed through the room and I was straight out of the lesson like a shot, running a way down the corridor then throwing the coins onto the ground and leaning my butt against the wall. Alex emerged from the lesson hardly able to stand with the twins on her tail,
