"Potterheads" all over the world exploded with glee following the announcement made by J.K. Rowling early this week. A "Harry Potter" spinoff is set for the works and every "Potter" fan in the world can't wait for the new movie series to hit the big screen. Of course, before "Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them" hits cinemas nationwide, an official cast should first be announced.
Readers of J.K. Rowling's bestselling novels, "Harry Potter" have longed for a new series to look forward to since the end of the "Potter" films since 2011. The rumoured eight book in the series isn't likely to happen but a spinoff of the series is scheduled. Rowling announced on Thursday that the Hogwarts textbook, "Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them" will be turned into a movie series.
"Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the 'Harry Potter' series, but an extension of the wizarding world," stated Rowling on her official Facebook page. "Fantastic Beasts" follows the story of Newt Scamander.
"The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry's gets underway," continued Rowling.
