Pennia's POV

My eyes snap open, my heart instantly racing. I grab the rope with my shaking hands, desperately trying to undo the tight knot. After my millionth try, my nerves get the best of me.

"Issac!" I yell, not necessarily a scream but loud enough.

Instantly I hear multiple pairs of feet come over, they stand under the branch I'm resting in.

"What's wrong?" Issac asks, already beginning to climb the tree.

"I can't get this knot untied!" I struggle to say; even the simplest tasks seem impossible.

Issac hoists himself up onto the branch, moving my trembling hands away from the satanic knot.

"P, breathe. What's wrong?" He says, taking the knot in his hands.

"My dream," I mumble, rubbing my hands against my thighs.

"What happened?" I hear Issac say as he unties the knot.

"H-he disappeared," I stammer, my eyes flooding.

"Who did? F?" He says as he unties the knot completely.

I nod my head, shoving the rope into my backpack before running my hands through my hair, tugging on it gently.

"What happened before he disappeared?" Issac says, leaning over the branch to wave the others away.

"We were talking and, uh, kissing," I said, blushing like a mad man when Issac let out a loud laugh. "Then when we pulled apart, he saw my cuff and then he was gone.."

Issac scooted closer to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulders, laying my head on his shoulder.

"Will he come back?" I say, a single tear dripping down my cheek.

"I think he will, Penn. Like you told us before, the dream ends when you say something relating to your current situation; maybe he recognized something." Issac said, using his thumb to wipe my tear.

I nod my head, leaning into his touch; Issac had to have been right. I looked down at my cuff, twisting it around my wrist.

It was made out of a dark silver metal, it looked as it tunnels were carved into it. The button looked more like a gem, the cuff looked like a decorative bracelet.

Issac let out another laugh, starling me from my trance.

"What the hell," I say, gently smacking his chest.

"You seriously haven't noticed?" He replied, grabbing my wrist and pointing to the gem. "Opal."

"Opalson," I mutter, running my finger across the stone, making sure not to push down. "Ironic."

I quietly begin to chuckle, shaking my head as Issac looks at his own cuff.

"What would be so special about my cuff for him to notice, it's another Capitol joke." I say, pushing the gem down, my spear appearing in my hand.

"I don't know about you," I begin, standing up on the branch we are resting on. "But I want breakfast, you coming?

~

Two hours later, we were enjoying our well cooked venison. We were sitting in a circle around the small fire, acting like normal teenagers for once when Issac remembered something.

"Oh my god, Penn!" He screeched, tackling me to the ground in a hug. "Happy birthday!"

"It is?" I say, pushing the boy off of me.
